at home on time tonight (for a change)

Tonight I had to walk away from one of my residents who is dying. I stayed overnight two nights in a row after my shift was done. Last night I reported her fears of being left alone to the charge nurse. I asked that social services get involved. It's not that I don't want to stay with her but I do have my regular responsibilities and I know how I get when I don't get sleep. It's another reason why I'm really getting into rawfoods. It's to have the energy and endurance to do more in one day.
