Counting My Blessings
I really AM feeling better from the raw vegan diet!

I just had to stand up from a sitting position and walk across the house. It was a surprise. It was so easy. It reminds me that I have been having such awkwardness, pain and general discomfort for so many months now that it's a surprise to be able to do something as simple as standing up from a sitting position with relative ease.
I was thinking of things to say to myself the next time I find myself in front of some non-vegan or non-raw temptation. "Is tasting this really worth risking that I won't be able to walk as well tomorrow?" Of course the answer is NO, but it's amazing how much we go into DENIAL when we are in the throes of ADDICTION. In this case, addiction to processed, denatured, chemicalized and otherwise unnatural foods.
I know this will get easier as time goes on. I remember when I was on 90% raw diet for a year and a half and saw an old friend who was so shocked to see me at 120 lbs. weight loss. She kept saying how proud of me she was and how hard she knew it was. I remember telling her, with all sincerity, "No, really it is NOT hard!"
But it IS hard in the beginning. Best of my memory is that the first couple or three months are hard, then it just gets easier and easier.
I sure am loving my green smoothies with dandelion greens. I don't know if I'll be able to make it to the store tomorrow, but I'll be sure to make it to the yard with the dandelions! I have plenty of bananas, pears and apples to make several green smoothies -- YEA!!
Better yet, at least for me, the green smoothies take the place of getting enemas or colonics. I know colonics can also be quite dangerous and have decided not to get them anyway -- at least not before I have been all raw for at least 9 months or a year. Then it would not be as dangerous. (This advice is from Dr. Ruza Bogdonavich, a naturopath who wrote the book THE CURE IS IN THE CAUSE.)
Thanks for reading this. It helps keep me writing it!
