Day #5 Raw - What I Ate Today
Eating, Reading, Walking...

First, I woke up early and at 5 a.m. I ate 5 raw almonds and one banana. Then I fell back asleep for at least two hours!
I ate a carrot around 10 a.m., then around 11:00 or so I got the hankering for cucumber salad with tomato, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, onion, a.c. vinegar, dash of fresh lime, olive oil, black pepper and Celtic sea salt. It really hit the spot.
I almost didn't eat dinner but finally decided I was going to eat. I fixed a very simple guacamole with 1/2 avocado mashed, 1/4 tomato diced, a little diced white onion, a little fresh lime juice, Celtic sea salt, onion powder, garlic powder and a dash of cayenne pepper. I stirred that all together and wrapped it in sheets of raw nori seaweed (the kind they use for sushi) and ate that.
Then for dessert I had a few tablespoons of goji berries. It's a good thing goji berries are so expensive. Otherwise I might eat half a pound a day! According to Avocado, more than a handful of goji berries per day is a waste of superior nutrition. I guess goji berries have the kinds of nutrients that you only need just so much and anything more is wasted for any particular day.
I also finished the revised and expanded book 12 STEPS TO RAW today. I used to have the first book and I must say this is almost an entirely different (and much, much longer) book -- and I am so glad I got it. Victoria shares so many amazing insights and ideas. She talked about how her whole family sleeps outdoors and I realized that when I move I would love to find a place with a little yard or patio with some privacy where I could sleep outdoors too!
And so Day #5 is ending. It has been a good day. Although I have to use some muscle each day to keep myself from eating non-raw and non-vegan or non-natural foods, it is indeed SO much easier now that I have made a firm DECISION to go 100%. The nibbling thing just does not work for me -- and how.
What else? Oh, I did take my walk again today, this time about 2:00 p.m. I walk the dog when I go and she is always just dying to go fast. She's on a leash, so she is tugging at me much of the time. Due to my feet being in recovery I tend to walk fairly slow. I know it's good for me that she pushes me to go faster. I do my best to go faster.
What else? I missed sunrise and sunset again today. Maybe my sungazing will start in earnest tomorrow!
With each new day on 100% raw I feel new hope and old dreams surfacing again after a long hibernation. Life is good.
Cheers,
Michele
