Forgot to mention -- yesterday I walked probably about a mile. That was good. However in the evening my feet were pretty bad and between my feet and then especially the pain of my psoriasis I had a very fitful sleep last night. I was awake every hour of the night. I don't think it is just because of the psoriasis. I think it is also to do with going raw. The body is adjusting.
Another thing I got in the mail yesterday was a group of Tony Robbins tapes I purchased on eBay! This year I sank to lower lows in depression and desperation than I have felt in decades. I know I need to get more positive, more proactive, and that listening to inspirational speakers has helped a lot of people who are today human dynamos (such as David "Avocado" Wolfe). It's an old set of tapes. I think the copyright is 1989! The better to get them cheaply. ;)
I listened to nearly half of the first of 28 cassette tapes (yes, 28 tapes of Tony Robbins!~) in my car yesterday. Now I'm about to listen to the rest of that tape. Lord knows I've had just about enough negative "tapes" going through my head. Now I'm putting through some stuff to help erase the negativity and bring out the positivity.
As far as staying raw, it's been fairly easy. The worst of it has been that so much of the time nothing seems very appealing to eat, but I remind myself that if I were truly hungry I'd be happy with my nutritious choices -- and the fact is, once I am eating them, they do taste much better than I expect. They just don't have that intense sort of sexiness of appeal that the old SAD foods did.
When I move back to the city in a couple months I will get to have some "gourmet" raw. One thing I have not had for over a year that I will love to have again is durian!
Oh, and I totally busted my budget yesterday by ordering truly raw cashews, raw morroccon olives with Celtic sea salt and more goji berries from
But it's okay. Like Victoria Boutenko, to me my first priority is eating raw. It is more important than the other material considerations. I would rather live like a pauper and eat like a king than live like a king and eat like a pauper (on refined and processed foods). I ordered the cashews especially so I can make "Raw Ranch Dip (or Dressing)."
It's REALLY good with veggies. You can make all kinds of variations of it, for example you don't have to use cashews every time. You can use for instance walnuts, pine nuts, and other stuff. Experiment - it's very versatile.
RAW RANCH DIP/DRESSING
1.5 cups raw cashews
4 teaspoons lemon juice or 2.5 teaspoons raw apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon sea salt
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon dried dill weed
1 teaspoon italian seasoning
1 basil leaf
Blend it up. Can store up to 2 weeks in fridge. Feel free to vary any of the ingredients. I like mine with more garlic and onion. Add water to get the consistency you want.
