Day #3 Raw -- Food and Thoughts
It's been a long, but good, day on raw

First, here is what I ate today:
A smoothie with:
1 Fuji apple
3 celery sticks (or actually 5 celery heart sticks)
1 3/4 cups water
It took a while to drink all that. I had half right away, the other half a couple hours later.
Then I had a snack of 5 raw almonds.
Then I made some "Seaweed Sauerkraut" using that recipe I posted yesterday but with fewer ingredients, just: green cabbage, a couple cloves of garlic (which was not in that recipe), dulse, nori, just a couple pinches of cayenne pepper and black pepper and Celtic sea salt. I put very little of the dules and nori since it was dried and I really needed the mixture to be nice and wet. Then I dedicated the last mortar-bowl of pounded cabbage to adding just moisture to the concoction by pushing the moisture through with a strainer and withholding the last bit of cabbage. I stirred that up in the mason jar and added 1-2 TBL. of the sauerkraut from my last batch to help it along, sealed it and put it in my closet. It will be ready next weekend.
Then I thought it would be a real shame to throw out that cabbage I pounded up just for the moisture, as there was at least a full cup of it, so I made an impromptu recipe out of that by adding some pounded garlic and onion, nori seaweed, a capful of organic apple cider vinegar (with the mother), a dash of cayenne pepper, about 1.5 TBL of raw cacao nibs and a teaspoon or so of honey. Cabbage has never been my cup of tea, but it was all right.
Then around 5 o'clock in the evening I ate a banana mashed with about 2 TBL. unhulled ground sesame seeds, which I ground in a Melitta coffee grinder. After that I still felt a little bit hungry so I ate half an avocado, just plain with nothing on it.
Oh, and I had 2 cups of hot tea today, sweetened with honey and stevia -- a combination of green tea and ginseng tea.
Oh, and I had a handful or two of goji berries. Yum.
And I'm full. ;)

Okay, enough about the food. Now about the exercise. I went for two walks today but both were very short as my feet were hurting due to the edema. I imagine each walk was probably not much more than 1/4 mile. That's okay. I'm only on Day #3 all raw vegan, and I KNOW it is going to all get better -- but will just take some time.
I did not sleep very well last night. Finally got up at 4:15 a.m. and played around on the computer a couple hours. Then I went back to bed and slept until about 9:30!
