Juice Fast - Day 8
This is the 8th day of my juice fast and a summary of my first week.

I began my juice fast on June 6th. I was searching for information to keep myself aware of all the guidelines of juice fasting and came upon this site and the many inspiring people. I thought it would be helpful to keep an online journal and if I can inspire someone else - how wonderful! Of course everyone wants to know the weight so here it is so far:
June 6th - 178
June 13th - 166
I have lost 12 pounds so far and I feel great. I have no doubt that I will stay the fast for 30 days. I have a goal to be healthy and fit. I am over the roughest part - the first week. My first 3 days were horrible (not to scare anyone). Not just the detox headaches, sweats and nausea, but I started my period on day 2! I have a condition that causes severe cramping during my period and not being able to take pain medication was so difficult. I told my husband, forget the fact that I haven't had solid food for a week, the fact that I got through my cramps with no pain medication is a miracle! It just goes to show that we can handle a lot more than we give ourselves credit for. I am very proud of my accomplishments so far. I am currently having fruit juice for my first 2 juices of the day and veggie juices for the last 2. I am drinking 8-10 cups of water daily and going for walks. My background is that I have been a vegetarian for 14 years (I am 30) and vegan since March 2006. I started learning about the raw food lifestyle in May 2006 and began including more raw foods in my diet. The decision to juice fast was to help cleanse my system to prepare it for a 80% raw food lifestyle afterwards. My goal as far as weight goes is to eventually reach 120.
