Hi everyone,

I found this forum months ago because I was at the end of my rope with cheilitis. I was looking for a cure - as you probably are - but I didn't find one. I then decided that instead of looking for the cure I would look for the cause of the symptoms.

I suffered from cheilitis for years and years. If I had to guess I would say that I suffered the symptoms for well over 20 years. Big pieces of skin would peel off my lips, they were always itchy and my bottom lip often had red itchy spots. Any time I got my lips wet they would itch and peel some more...I used to spend a lot of time in front of the bathroom mirror with a pair of tweezers trying to peel enough skin from my lips to make then smooth enough to put make up on so that I could cover them with lipstick.

I tried everything I could think of: elimination diet, liver cleanse, skin care products, creams...

Then one day during a group discussion for school the light went on!(I am taking a Master Herbalist program by the way) Since we know that your skin is the body's largest organ of elimination and that they body is always talking to us we can look at cheilitis as a sign that the body is trying to get rid of a toxin. If your liver is overwhelmed guess where you see it?...skin eruptions. So I figured that if my body was trying to tell me that I had a toxicity problem perhpas the symptom was close to the source. This led me to my mouth full of mercury fillings. It made so much sense to me that I went out the next week and had all of my fillings pulled out and changed. I had quite a few and the cost was over $600. No dental plan, woes me. The results were immediate. No more symptoms - no peeling - no itching - not a flake of skin. I am not kidding. I have never been happier. I've waited six months to post this message because I wanted to be sure.

I hope this will help someone out there. We really do have to start taking our health into our own hands. Good luck, listen to your heart.
