Walking on the mirror
lightly
wanting to leave no footprints.
But, looking back,
deep impressions can be seen
where the path has led.
Like dry mud caking
on every step
the past journey leaves the
tell-tale marks,
some footprints deeper than others,
but the journey is clear.
The quest now seems to be to leave
even smaller footprints,
to leave the mirror unscathed.
Ego
how it seeps into everything!
It lurks around
convincing that it is not there.
It hides in the corner
innocently smiling sweetly
yet its tentacles ever snipping
in every facet of life.
Here we are
living our 3D lives.
We are like caterpillars, crawling around,
distracted by the life around us.
It seems that most of us never get out of being a caterpillar.
But occasionally there are those who can see beyond the ordinary life.
They are able to create a shield, a cocoon around themselves.
They are able to see beyond the 3D.
They stay in the cocoon until they have developed all the knowledge
and skills they need.
Then they break out of the cocoon... and fly!
They have become the butterfly!
