EARTH AWARENESS

The Enchanted Garden Intentional Community
seeks individuals who want to join together to
live in on a 1/3 acre in the city, within walking distance
of SDSU.

We are looking for individuals who want
to spend time honoring the plants in our garden
and practicing Cooperative Living skills.

NOTE; This ad reflects rental prices
for one of our smaller rooms two years ago.
The rent is currently $490.
You can trade $120.00 of this amount
paid on the first (or to the fifth), $370.00
You pay the full amount, and then turn in
the number of hours you worked with the
next month's rent. A check for hours
worked is given back to you.

We are now going to be sharing an additional common
space of a Dome for art, music, and other uses.
Be prepared to pay $25.00 more than this
ad says. Be have 1/3 acre with lots of room
to grow garden and root your earth awareness
in practical skills.

I, Leslie Goldman, am the co-founder.
We have work trades for all kinds of skills
in part trade for your rent fees.

The property is in private ownership,
and open as well for co-ownership with
the right people at a later time of occupancy
that feels right.

BROAD MISSION STATEMENT

http://curezone.com/upload/Blogs/Your_Enchanted_Gardener/Plant_Parenthood_KEEP_BEET11.jpg

We are here to practice this more and more,
in light of accepting what is.

FUTURE OF THE HOUSE

To be of service to our immediate neighborhood,
including the SDSU students who need a place
to root there dreams and join in supportive
earth based community.

COMMUNITY ASSET FEES

Community Asset fees include Utilities
and many supplies.

We are adults and a few students here
who want a place to live with many opportunities
to network with a green job.

I am a published author and need co-partners
to republish many book projects.

Living here requires communication skills
and a willingness to live quietly in our own
space as well as participate in house meetings.

Food in, and will be more increasingly shared.
We eat food from the Hillcrest Farmers' Market.
We test products in the Enchanted Garden Intentional Community
Kitchen.

We have people here who have different diets.
There are vegetarians here and people who eat
high quality pasture fed animal foods.

Our main kitchen is primarily for vegetarian prep,
although you can eat non-vegetarinan foods in
the dining room. You can prepare non-vegetarian
foods in other places on site.

We favor whole, pure, natural food, fresh,
local, and organic.

SEE THE WEBSITE FOR OTHER AGREEMENTS

ROOMS AVAILABLE

We have a small room available July 1,
and a larger room coming available this summer.

GARDEN HERE

You are welcome to join the
Beet Keepers, Return! here.
We gather the last Sunday of the month.

You are invited to live here, and do your own
thing together. I am a writer. Many here
are very creative and sensitive and take
private time and space often.

We share some housekeeping everyday
cleanup, and also pay for cleaning that
is in house and outsourced.

This is an learning environment.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS NECESSARY

Be prepared to communicate,
and also give space to others.

The house is within walking distance of SDSU,
a 35,000 student and staff population.

TRANSPORTATION

Parking is limited on the street.
There are some parking spaces that do not
need permits nearby. We have a small number
of on-=street permits that are shared.

PROPERTY CLEANUP AND GARDENING
MAINTENANCE

Summer is always a time for getting to the next
level with cleanup, and garden needs.

Each person pays a higher rent and can
reduce the rent by doing a work trade
of 12 hours a month valued at $10.00 an hour.

This is not a money making operation,
but is intended to provide a house rental
for a limited time period. There are community
overtones here and the opportunity to live
together among friends. This is not
intended to be a boarding house.

Be prepared to share in financial expenses
and rents and rising utilty costs as the cost
of living increases. These occur generally once
a year. The normal stay here can be one year,
or more. Rentals ask a 45 day move out
period.

LAST MONTH RENT

Last Month rent is paid when you move in.
This means you do not pay rent the final month
when you are "graduating."

More info to come.

Please communicate through
my Facebook Page, or by phone
to make an appointment to visit
or see rooms.

10:15 - 11:30 / Workshop Session 1 (1:15 minutes)

FIND OUT MORE ABOUT
THE ENCHANTED GARDEN INTENTIONAL
COMMUNITY as part of the...

Basics of Urban Homesteading
Organized by Leslie Goldman

Description: This workshop is intended to be a lively round table discussion,
passing a talking stick. Come listen and have your voice heard about the subject of growing food in your back yard becoming a backyard farmer
and gardener, and knowing personally the farmer growing the best of your
food.

Some say we will return to a bright green future with numbers of us growing food in our backyards supplanted by community gardens, and food grown by local organic farmers who we know and support. We will celebrate those who are growing some of their own food at home, growing food not lawns, being backyard farmers, and look at living in intentional community that is earth based.

Do you have experience doing this? Show up! Participate in a lively
cheerleading session guaranteed to send you home gardening!!!

Participate in our roundtable, in an lively discussion joined by other local inspirations who love to garden.

Confirmed participants include Carolyn Chase, Co-founder
of The San Diego EarthFair, an avid gardener; Malaki Obado, who grows
much of his food in his backyard, Bill Tall, of City Farmers' Nursery,
a source for incredible organic plants in San Diego; and Leslie Goldman,
Your Enchanted Gardener, Co-Founder of the Enchanted Garden Intentional Community within walking distance of SDSU.

Please show up and share your excitement for growing food, your own
medicines, and flowers.

We will (tentatively) show the film "Homegrown Revolution" a 15 minute film about the Dervais community
in Pasadena who are paving the way to "a Path to Freedom" through being sustainable right
where they live.

BILL TALL,
OF CITY FARMERS' NURSERY
WITH KEEP THE BEET MEDIA STAR,
THE WORLD'S FIRST TALKING BEET PLANT.

This Youtube opens with Bill Tall of City Farmers Nursery talking to
Pacific College's Dr. Wang at the Pacific Symposium '09. Bill planted
seeds that he would help the students of the Pacific College of Oriental
Medicine begin to grow some of their medicines here locally.
At the City Heights Community Garden, sponsored by the IRC,
Rich, a PCOM graduate, is now growing medicinals. I spent
some time out there on Saturday. Very Imprressive work sponsored
locally by the IRC, backers of the City Heights Farmers' Market,
the New Roots Farm, and more!!!!!

At the City Farmer Nursery, Bill grows a lot of the plants himself
because he finds he cannot find them growing organically elsewhere,
he says in this Youtube.
