Mumbai Reflections
The Enchanted Garden is needed in the world now.
This point is brought home by the events in Mumbai

I never heard of Mumbai before
Thanksgiving 08. One of my housemates here
at the Enchanted Garden Intentional Community
was listening to the news sometime the eve before
and said that the Taj Mahal was burning.
The Events in Mumbai were brought home.
Peggi Sturm, one of the survivors of the terrorist
attack, is the Executive Director of B'nai Horin,
the Jewish Renewal Community in Los Angeles where
I celebrate the High Holidays each year.
Peggi has been through an incredible transformation
this past year. I took photos of her at the Rosh Hashanah,
planting seeds in my own head that she would receive the love she was wanting.
It seems that has come to pass. She is deeply in love right now
less than two months after the Jewish New year.
I was writing the last few days about the End of the World
as we Know it.
That is the Quality of Shift that is being asked here at
the Enchanted Garden Intentional Community where we have been
involved in a massage cleanup of our Basement the last three months.
This Clean UP--to make sense of the massive takeover portions of our
backyard with Heaps of Clutter and some treasures
that came out of the dark, I have deemed the Great Earth Clean UP.
The Great Earth Clean UP--Maybe my own coined phrase--ties in with
the Great Purifiication that has been foretold by many seers, sages, and
prophets through the ages.
I personally find it necessary for my own sanity and survival
to see in events--whether it is the Clean Up here or events
in Mumbai with a deeper meaning.
Links about The Great Purification can be found all over the Web.
The Great Purification is tied in with the coming of the !000 Years of Peace,
another foretold event that shows up in the Book of Revelation, among
other sources. Many traditions speak of The Great Purification.
Other talk about Armageddon. The Great Purification, Armagedon, and
The Great Earth Clean Up are all tied in with the
Choice to Bring the Enchanted Garden down to earth.
What is the Enchanted Garden? Let me review.
Since ancient times, we have lived in the myth that we came out of
The Garden. Some traditions see the Garden as the Garden of Eden.
We lost our innocence when we were tossed out. We ate from
the Tree of Knowledge. We separated the Tree of Knowledge from the
Tree of Life. This is the path of unrestrained Science, science that has
lost its soul.
The Essene Teachings--Enchanted Garden Teachings--define
Wisdom as the application of Knowledge to Experience.
Dr. Bernard Jensen, my spiritual father, called Wisdom living
in the Wise Domain.
It takes Wisdom to Return to the Garden.
The Enchanted Garden has always existed in our inner worlds,
and yet it takes the application of knowledge to experience
to bring it down to earth.
The Return to the Garden is a simple path.
It involved reconnecting, as Edmond Bordeaux Szekely writes,
with a Journey of One Thousand Meditations...
reconnecting with a Symbiosis of Nature and Eight Thousand
years of Wisdom.
I take and offer a more simple path.
It is called
the RETURN OF THE BEET.
The Return of the BEET is a practical
down to earth program that I have been writing about here
on the Plant Your Dream Blog
since Spring 08. You can read up on the Journey of KEEP the BEET
Media Star, the World's First Talking Beet Plant.
KEEP the BEET is the source of my very own connection and inspiration.
Might we all be so edified to KEEP the BEET, grow a locally grown
organic beet in a pot, and start to hear again the simple message
of nature that all plants carry for us.
We can each learn to KEEP the BEET.
We are compelled for the sake of Life,
by events in Mumbai to learn to grow a bit of our own food
and welcome in the RETURN of the BEET.
Some might think I am stretching a point.
Rather I would say, we have been victimized by
fragmented thinking that separates the Soul from Soil.
I say the Earth and the Soul are Soilmates.
When we lose track that this life is intended to be a
Journey, a journey of One Thousand Meditations
through many paths, we end up with a World
that is more dead than alive,
that has a Crack in its Foundation.
When we live in a world of Killing,
of disregard for Life, for basics like
an economy based on seeds and plants
and Seeding our Dreams naturally,
we end up in results such as Mumbai.
The greatest resource
we have in this life is a fully alive human being
yet the possibility that we can have such
a fully realized human without a person
living in harmony with other seeds
is a moot point.
We will never get there.
We will never get there until we
realize we are more gardeners than mechanics.
We will never get there until we learn to
Keep the Beet.
What kind of seed breeds Mumbai?
What kind of world does a person live in
that motivates them to train and make
strategies to kill others?
I believe there is a connection
between taking the time to learn to live together
and living in a world that breeds peace.
Blessing for the continued safety of all
in Mumbai. Deep Prayers for the innocents
and a grieving world so in pain,
so out of touch with its foundation
in peace and the path of nature that
brings peace on earth.

I achieved 3 of the 4. I met with the leaders of MAVIM, but was trapped in the hotel during my field visit.
The people of India are the most beautiful and gracious people I have ever met. They are all about honoring and service. Every hotel staff member has their hands in prayer pose and says Namaste to us every time we speak to them. They are waiting at the door to greet us when we return and when we leave. Nothing is to much to ask of the staff here. They are all about service.
The shopkeepers became our dearest friends, coming to meet Master Charles at the meditation evenings
Even in the darkest hours of the siege, they were trying to help us. Waiters in the restaurant helped our 4 injured people people crawl out, go down a fire escape exit and got into taxis with them and took them to the hospital. They STAYED with the injured for the next 2 days.
Our group was all isolated in rooms of 2. Most of them were able to communicate between the rooms by the hotel phones. Not us. They were very worried about us. Thank God for my iPhone and texting. Can't wait to see my bill!
My roommate, Lisa, and I meditated and chanted silently and dozed for the 40 hours, in between the texting.
It was truly terrifying. Machine gun fire, bombs going off, grenades, etc. The Oberoi Hotel has an atrium style lobby, with all the floors open around it. So we had no idea where the sounds were coming from. Maybe just as well. Some people said the terrorists had master keys and tried to unlock doors. Ours was bolted and barricaded and no one tried us. Our room was as far from the elevators as you could go. Perhaps that was a blessing.
My friends, family, business associates and religious associates all rallied to support me. I was included in every Thanksgiving Dinner. And my friends forwarded my emails to their friends and family. It meant a lot to me. I have hundreds of loving emails already.
Master Charles is well know by many spiritual leaders and gurus/teachers. They have all been praying for us. Some are coming to visit us today.
We met as a group last night here at the Four Seasons and we each shared our stories and dramas. We were all connected in love and forgiveness. We feel challenged to expand ourselves to bring even more love into the world.
Today we are meeting with the State Department and the FBI. The embassy staff met us at the Oberoi release site and offered food and drink and help with documents and everything, including post traumatic stress syndrome. I was surprised that I was able to sleep last night. Andy (my love) told me he has purchased super glue and is never going to let us be separated again! At the moment, I feel the same way.
I am doing telephone interviews with KABC, KNBC and FOX News this morning. I understand the media is pursuing you about me too.
There is a camera truck parked in front of my house. Bet my dogs are most unhappy! This is a moment of celebrity in my life that I did not ask for, but will use to promote world peace and the end of poverty.

POLICE REGAIN CONTROL OF MUMBAI 195 Dead:

Indian commandos have killed the last three gunmen inside Mumbai's historic Taj Mahal hotel, ending a terrorist attack that gripped the city for three days and left at least 195 people dead -- including two Canadians.
"The Taj operation is over," said Mumbai Police Chief Hasan Ghafoor.
In total, nine terrorists were killed and one arrested. Maharshta state official R. R. Patil said the captured gunman was a Pakistani national named Mohammad Ajmal Qasam.
