CHef Jem clears a trough of old soil in our basement.
The air is much improved now, but we still have black mold.
At Hollywood Goes Green, I took on our second major
GREAT EARTH CLEAN UP Sponsor:
PERF GO GREEN.
We have an downstairs Kitchen area that is completely overrun
and dysfunctional.
That is one of the next projects, to use TONY TRACY's new
GO GREEN trash bags to clear that space and start fresh.

Our Subterraneous basement is lower than the front garden and side driveway.
For years, it was a source of clutter and overwhelm,
as well as foul air and black mold. It was a Herculean task
to imagine clearing it. At the beginning of Summer 08,
the members of the Enchanted Garden Intentional Community
took it on.
We cleared the basement in summer '08.
That was Phase One.
Now we are in Phase Two!
What do we do will all the stuff
that is in our back yard?
I have been thinking in terms of this project
as part of THE GREAT EARTH CLEAN UP.

INTRO:
THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT.
What has the Clean up of Our Basement
here to do with You?
We as a world are in the midst of Earth Shaking Shifts.
Seers and Sages, Prophets, and Doom Tellers
believe this is the TIme.
There are Archetypes set in Motion Now.
Some people live their lives
in the understanding that
Life here on the Earth is nothing in comparison to the Life
to come.
Some here Imagine that we
are on the Verge of a Great Earth Catastrophe,
an Earth Axis Pole Shift,
or maybe a Climate Change shift that will
Usher in the End of the World.
They see Divine Intervention
Raising us up out of the Muck and Grime
Others accept we have already fallen
and it is time to get up off our "Axis."
The Solution is to grab a Clean Up cloth--a Holy Schmattah--
and start Cleaning Up Our Act.
Some see the End of the World Coming.
Others, the Holy Schmattah Clan,
accept these are in the Times of Great Purication,
The Great Earth Clean Up as long ago foretold
in so many Earth-Based Traditions.
The World is not coming to an End, merely the
World as we Know it, the Holy Schmattah Clan says.
Throughout History that have been bullets flying
to help bring the world as we know it today to an End,
The Holy Schmattah Clan believe something else.
We believe:
"Peace for the whole
depends upon the effort of the individual." [1]
"The beginning of the solution of our problems
is in every walk of life not to tear down,
not to destroy, but to ensoul.
By ensouling is meant that that part of the
Divine Power which is inborn and indwelling in us
shall be given an opportunity to lead us
in the direction we need to go." [2]
Some are waiting for Peace to Come.
They do not believe Peace in humanly possible.
Then, there are those with the Holy Schmattah.
They say,
Through my eyes, I am recording the History
of Peace on Earth, a History of the Earth
and its Human Flowering.
Our Renewed Earth is the Enchanted Garden,
and You and I, It Gardeners.

I live with other here in the Enchanted Garden
Intentional Community. We have 1/3 acre
surrounded by Canyon not far from a 35,000
student population. Many of those there
have never grown a plant. Nor have they
ever heard of the Holy Schmattah Clan.
This book is for them, and for you.
This Book is a Garden Management Journal.
It is a record of Our Amazing & Mystifying
Adventures here where we live

What does this have to do with KEEP the BEET?
The very same Sages who see this as shifting times,
also see a great longing.
Edmond Bordeaux Szekely once wrote a book
Portfolio called JOURNEY THROUGH A THOUSAND MEDITATIONS (1963)
a Synthesis of Nature and Eight Thousand Years of Wisdom.
That portfolio of loose leaf folds was dedicated to all at the Grand Central Station
of the Twentieth Century longing for our lost symbiosis of
thousands of years with nature, simplicity, and peace.
We have lost the beat. We can return through learning
going through the exercise learning to hear Nature again
through growing the Act of gaining confidence that we can grow
a bit of our own food.

All it takes is to start where you are
with a Holy Schmattah in hand.
For three Months, now, we have been
Clearing our Basement, literally.
The Grime, Black Mold, and invisible Bug Life
has been tremendous. Much of what was in the
basement is not pulled out into the Backyard.
We are are now dealing with what to do with it.
The Clearing of the Basement literally revealed
a Crack in Our Foundation. Before we started,
all lot of people in America were not aware
that our Economy as well had a few Cracks.
Now all is revealed, both the cracks in our Basement
here and the Cracks in the World.
What is the Solution--which route will you to
see the End of the World as we Know it?
