Day 8, Saturday July 25, 2008
Weight 217; total loss 16 lbs + four since yesterday
Eating last night had my weight going in the opposite direction this morning. I am
not too worried. I know most of it is water. The inches continue to melt off my body. It is begining to be quite noticeable in my face now. It is not as bloated as it use to be. Still have lots of energy, which my darling wife can attest too. My clothes are starting to feel loose. I have to make a new hole in my belt so my shorts don't slide down my ankles.
Day 8, July 26, 2008, Saturday
Weight; did not weigh
Today we left for Utah to drop off my kids. During the first day of the
trip I drank mostly water and green tea. Did not eat any solid food. We made it to Alburquerque NM the first day. I was feeling a little dehydrated by the end of the night.
Day 9, July 27, 2008, Sunday
Did not weigh
I continued with my water/tea fast until about 5:00 p.m. when we stopped in
Monticello Utah to eat dinner. I had ate a salad. It tasted heavenly. They had a
homemade carrot salad that was out of this world. My taste buds were so in tune I
could breakdown the ingredients in the dish. I am going to try to replicate it when I get home. Later in the evening when we arrrived in Utah, I made a spinach salad for dinner.
Monday, July 28, 2008, Monday
Did not weigh.
In the morning I had some grapes and cranberry juice. Went to a health food store
and picked up some items so I could cook for my nephews. I bought some greens and cheese to make a spinach salad and hot bacon dressing. I also bought some soy to make them soy tacos. The tacos turned out great. I ate 3 soy tacos. Later in the evening I began prepping all the ingredients to make my spinach salad. We played basket ball for about 2 hours. I was suprised I was able to play for an hour and a half despite not being adjusted to the altitude. After the game I had some diluted cranberry juice.

Weight 214 lbs. + 1 lbs since last weighing my self.
Total loss 19 lbs I have been eating pretty clean this past few days. I know by adding the egg and cheese to the salad, it could be affecting my weight. I also used salt in the tacos and salad dish so I know I am retaining some water weight. I notice my shorts are very loose. I also had to knotch a new hole in my belt so my shorts don't fall down. Good sign.
Although not a big change in weight since Friday, I know I am still loosing inches,
especially in the waist.
Wednesday, July 30, 2008, Wednesday.
Weight 215lbs + 1 since yesterday. Total loss 18 lbs.
Flew back to Texas today. The morning and early afternoon, all I ate was grapes, cranberry juice and water.
When I arrived in Houston, went to eat dinner with Mom and my wife. I had white
rice, beans, plantains and a chicharron (deep fried pork). It tasted wonderful. After dinner, Alma and I went to work out. At the spa I weighed in at 215 or so. Will begin jucing more tomorrow. Will resume juice fast this coming Sunday so I can break the 210 barrier in the coming week.

Weight; 214 total loss 19 lbs.
I had blueberry smoothie this morning. My wife and spent the morning in the kitchen preparing food for the day. I was able to recreate the the carrot salad I ate in Montecello Utah. The ingredient I missed by later added was mustard. The recipe is
2 cups mayonaise, 3/4 cup sugar, 1/4 - 1/2 vinegar, 2-3 table spoons of mustard, one can of dole crushed pineapple. These are just approximate amounts. You need to adjust to your taste and liking. I blended those items in a blender. I then adjusted the flavor to taste. I then blended some chopped carrots, raisins, red cabbage and chopped celery. It tasted wonderful. I then did the prep work for a spinach salad. I made the dressing and placed in the fridge to cool. We did not go to the spa today. But we did plenty of cardio at home.
We also sweated big time in the kitchen while we cooked dinner since the AC is out.
I munched all day on the things I was making in the kitchen. In the late afternoon, I ate some pork stew my wife made with five tortillas. We then went to whole foods to buy some food we needed and some food I wanted to try out. We bought nuts, wheat germ, some new soy products, included soy pepperoni. We also bought soyizo, a soy based product which is supposed to taste like chorizo. Later in the evening I made a some lemon grass tea.

Weight 214; total loss 19 lbs
This morning I woke up and made a blueberry/bannana smoothie. I added some wheat germ, grapes, honey, o.j. and cinnamon. I lacked some vanilla extract, but the
smoothie tasted great without. My 14 year-old daughter made some blueberry pancakes for wife's birthday. She also made some soyizo with egg. Breakfast was great. My wife and I plan to work out today. This afternoon I plan to eat the spinach salad and carrot salad I made yesterday.

For my wife's birthday, we went to the olive garden. I had salad, 3 bread sticks and lasagna. It tasted great. I don't how many calories I ate at dinner, but I figured it would be o.k. since I will begining a juice fast tomorrow. I am really going for a minimum of 21 days. I have given my body a week to platuea between 213-216 lbs. I believe in the first week, I should drop to the 207-209 range.

Today I had an eating day since I am going to start my juice fast tomorrow. My wife made a blueberry yogurt shake that tasted very good. For breakfast I had a soyizo taco. It tasted remarkably good. We will never buy chorizo again. The flavor was exactly the same except with without all the saturated fat. Later I ate some of my carrot salad. In the late afternoon I ate my spinach salad.
My wife and I went to the gym at 11:30 p.m. We did 45 minutes of cardio and 30 minutes in the sauna. We I came home, I was hungry so I had a wheat taco with soyizo and egg and a glass of reduced cranberry/grape juice. I figured I ate about 500 calories. Total calories for the day was probably less than 1500.

Today was measurement day. Since my first measurement on July 11, I have lost 12
pounds, 3 inches in the waist, 5 inches in the gut, 3 inches on the chest, 3 inches on my thighs, .5 inches on my arms and calves. These next two weeks will take me
closer to the size and weight I was six years ago when I first met my wife. I believe I weighed between 200-204 lbs. when I first met her. I believe my low weight during the period was 189 lbs and that was in December 2002.
I started reading more about kombacha tea and keifer. I ordered a kombacha tea
starter. I look forward to brewing my own and I am also interest in brewing some
keifer water so the kids can start to drink it on a regular basis. Plan to work out today. Will do some lifting, cardio, and sauna. Will only be a juice and water day. Came home from church and ate an egg soyizo wheat taco and a few bites of carrot salad I had made a few days ago. I really didn't think about eating, I just did it. I think I was caught up in the emotion of everyone else being hungry and eager to eat.
Came home about 9:30 p.m. Relaxed until 11:30 p.m. when my wife suggested we go
to the gym. I did not want to go. I was feeling tired. We arrived at the gym at
midnight. We did weights for 30 minutes, sit ups and rowing for 15 and then we did
45 minutes of cardio and 20 minutes in the steam room. Felt great. We got home at
2:00 a.m. We were both hungry. I made some fresh squeezed orange juice. We also
ate some sardines with chunky salsa. It tasted wonderful. I then had a bean dip
toastada with feta cheese. That tasted delicious. The entire dinner was less than 500 calories
So needless to say, I did not start my juice fast today. Tomorrow is a new day.
