Okay Now it's official...Dry Fast Round 4   9 y
I usually prefer to start fasts Sunday or Monday night but last night I really didn't think it was going to be a go considering what a rough weekend it's been emotionally.

This morning I woke up having to get kids ready for school and make their lunches. I got started with with cleaning early to get all the trash out before they came and did the pickups. Had my coffee enema and quiet time. I meditated pretty deeply and actually fell asleep for a couple of hours. After waking up I thought about how good I actually felt. No hunger or thirst. Hmm perhaps this was a good sign to continue with the fast. Around 4:30 went to the gym for usual sauna (dry only) and run on the treadmill. Running speed of 5.5 has become my usual warm-up for the average 6.0+ t ...   read more

Wasn't much of a "rest" day for the body as I planned   9 y
I really wanted to give my body a rest BUUUUT, I got so upset in the morning that I needed a good release. Running/working out just helps do that.

Saturday - May 2 It’s my mental/emotional state right now. I know I’m going through something that I can’t put into words at this time. I feel as though I’m in the midst of an internal struggle. Feels incredibly frustrating but I know it’s one of those times when you feel at your crappiest because a breakthrough is just around the corner. The moment when it’s ”darkest just before the dawn”. In the meantime, this conflict within has been making me very edgy (more sensitive perhaps). I thought it was the fast but I’ve been refeeding and my emotional state hasn’t picked up liked I wo ...   read more

Dry fast (Round 4) ? Hmmmm   9 y
It's been officially one month since the first day of my first round of fasting. I thought I'd be pretty much done. However, I'm just not feeling quite finished with this process.

10am I haven’t been able to update each post as much as when I was fasting. I guess eating takes up too much time. lol. Well, yesterday I went to the sauna and got on the treadmill 20 minutes. Strength and endurance feels great. Only thing I wasn’t happy about was that I started to feel right hip pain. It was mild but after going for awhile without any pain I was very optimistic about being healed. With that pain starting up, it makes me wonder. I also felt yesterday that I had an inflammation flare up. Tendons/muscles are tender to the touch. I used ”Arnica Warming Relief” ...   read more

Feeling more at peace today   9 y
More ramblings as I continue to heal (non-physical stuff)

I spent more time with God yesterday. It seems with all this stuff coming to the surface emotionally, I knew that is what I needed to do. One of the big things that are getting most of my attention due to overwhelming frustration is how I’m dealing with my role as a mother and a home maker. It almost seems like the role automatically comes with feelings of inadequacy as well as overwhelming guilt and shame. Clearly they are my own projections of a lot of things not healed/unforgiven in my past with my own parents. But my ego is caught up in seeing the cause of my problems coming from t ...   read more

Strange day - Mixed emotions -(joy, frustration, sadness,)   9 y
Missed posting yesterday. I'm not quite sure what's going on with me mentally/emotionally. I feel a bit unstable having both emotional highs and low lows.

I’m not sure why I’m feeling this way. In a physical sense I should be happy. Holding at 133lbs and about 25% BF since re-feeding. I started the day feeling tired. Seems strange I’m more tired during re-feeding than when fasting. Perhaps this is the detoxing going on still. Perhaps repair, or even both. So, yesterday I took my daughter to the beach. I love going to the beach because I just feel it has a cleansing, healing, invigorating effect on my spirit. Yesterday’s experience was no exception. Let me just go through a few high points. I ran on the beach. Compared to the last ...   read more

Fasting is technically over but the benefits continue   9 y
Fasting can be a very powerful tool for healing the body, mind, and spirit.

9am Beginning with a late night update... I went to the gym at 11pm. Yep I did. Went in the sauna, ran on the treadmill, got on ab machines for the first time, and finished off with the sauna. My back was so sore that I felt relief lying on the wood in the sauna. I think maybe I should back off the treadmill. But I enjoy it so much. Half of my time on it last night I had eyes closed while brisk walking. Just really felt connected with God. What a great time since virtually no one is at the gym at that time on a Sunday night. It is so peaceful. Got home 12:15 and it usually takes ...   read more

Feeling some improvement since yesterday's fatigue onslaught   9 y
I'm trying to get myself in the right mind for re-feeding. Right now only plan is to go paleo but I need a more comprehensive plan.

1:42 pm I woke up pretty early around 5ish. I didn’t quite sleep through the night as well as I had hoped. I think being in bed all day sporadically napping messed up my night sleeping. i woke up about 5am not as rested as I thought I’d likely be and a mild headache. I just didn’t have that spring to my step when getting up. Had my coffee enema which seems to usually clear things up as it did this morning. I was praying to God for guidance with healing especially with my back and right hip. I can’t remember how but I somehow was googling stuff with fasting and I saw something abo ...   read more

Letting go   9 y
Important turning point for me as I let go of my own personal expectation with this fast. I give up control to the Holy Spirit to lead me.

12:12 am 3 rounds of fasting since March 30 (had to correct that. Put April earlier. Brain fog). I been mostly preoccupied with the body analyzing what everything means. At this moment I feel the raucous of the ego has been silenced long enough for me to ask God what is my role/purpose in this world? I wait quietly for my Father, my Teacher, My guide to reveal what I need to know that I may fulfill my purpose according to His plan and not mine. I asking God to give me guidance with this fast. Should I end the dry fast today or are there more insights and revelations to discover ...   read more

Day 4 - It's a dry fasting record for me   9 y
I'm actually at about at 73 hours. I'm amazed and feeling so grateful to have made it this far. Thank you God for all the support He has given me.

11:20pm 73 hours! I actually feel pretty darn good except for my back pain. i thought it was just the lower part but after rubbing some arnica/oils I felt the ache from middle of my back all the way down. Maybe it’s because I’ve been up on my feet for many hours straight or it could be a detox/healing thing. Maybe the kidneys are strained from DF. I NEED A MASSAGE NOW but it will have to wait. I have an appt tomorrow with my chiro at 11am and a massage after. 2am My back feels better but what the heck I’m wide awake. I have been trying to go back to sleep for 20 minutes. I gues ...   read more

Day 3 - Hanging on with dry fasting   9 y
A day of reflection and insight

10am Started my day at 6:15am. I slept pretty well last night. I woke up once at 1am and my nasal passages were uncomfortably dry. I have not taken any type of meds since I had gotten sick but last night I wanted to open up my nasal passages before going to bed and so I sprayed my nose with a decongestant. It worked too well. TOOO DRY! I did feel this phlegmy gunk on back of my throat. I wanted something to drink pretty bad to clear it out. I just kept dry swallowing. I swished and gargled with magnesium Oil (i first typed mineral. Ugh my brain. glad i noticed). I had that unopen ...   read more

Day 2 - Dry fasting goes on   9 y
Thoughts are more on healing the mind and less on healing the body. This is truly my objective for fasting when I am able to silence the ego's raucous preoccupations with form.

12am I’m in 26 hours with the dry fast. I am feeling hunger and this time it’s an empty burning ache in my stomach. I’ve read about doing deep and very slow breathing exercises for this and it does seem to be helping. Everything from my lower back down is aching. My glutes/quads are burning like I’ve been doing squats. But instead of focusing on aches and pains in the negative sense, I am now trying to remember that they are signs for healing. Yaaaayy! I am feeling better with each moment! I feel well! I’m doing something very good for my body. 6:40am First time I woke up las ...   read more

Day 1 - Dry fasting (3rd round)   9 y
Began the first round of my fast March 30 (less than a month ago). I'm going to start this fast with a dry fast. I don't have any expectations of how long. Also I picked up this bug (cold/virus/?) and I just don't know how my body will respond.

First thing to mention is I just updated my post for yesterday. I thought it was important to let you know because I had a thought about eating meat. I wondered how that affects one’s vibration. I was brought to a similar question posted by someone... ”Would a spiritual being eat meat/dairy products? How does it affect the vibrations?” Anyway, check my post Day 9 (round 2). So last night I woke up quite a few times. My throat continued to be scratchy and nose got plugged up. So it seems this is in line with symptoms of a bug/cold/virus but I can’t be 100% sure. Now that I’m ...   read more

Intermittent fast day 4   9 y
Hit the gym 3 times yesterday and feeling the effects this morning. Feeling pretty wiped out

I know it may seem crazy going to the gym 3 times. First of all they weren’t full on workouts. Usually 10-15 minutes of Sauna and treadmill 20 to 30 minutes doing intervals of brisk walking and running. The first one yesterday was less than my minimum since I was short for time and did only 15 minutes. I just wanted to get my body loosened and warmed up to start my day. The other thing about going to the gym is that it is my outlet to release built up energy and get me back to center. Since last week with the Santa Ana winds blowing I found myself more irritable, easily agitated, with ...   read more

Intermittent fast day 3   9 y
Very early entry- midnight. Yesterday's post was so long I figure to just start the new post.

12am I actually just got back from the gym. Around 10pm I just had lots of energy. I got a nap in the afternoon and hadn’t had any big physical activity all day. I had eaten more than I would have liked to. I wanted to do one meal as I had been doing the previous days (usually late in the afternoon). However, I woke up with a pretty good appetite. I kept the meal small but by mid afternoon I ate without being aware and present with what I was doing. I ate in a rush. I ate more than what I really needed to. I mean I wasn’t full but portion wise it was unnecessary. Granted it is st ...   read more

Intermittent fast Day 2 - Slept like a baby   9 y
Had a meal of mostly protein/fats. First time today I felt a twinge of hip pain deep in the joint. I decided to skip the treadmill today.

9am I slept so well. I didn’t get up once to pee or anything. At least I have absolutely no recollection of it. No I’m sure I didn’t I had some very very interesting dreams. Animals in my dreams...monkeys, cheetah/leopard and puma fighting, I was in the midst being near all of them. Not in the wild but in normal suburban life. It didn’t happen simultaneously but separate occurrences . Maybe it’s Native American spiritual significance stuff. Or...I was watching Survivorman Big foot before I slept. But he just talks and no animals are seen. If anything only discussion of animal in ...   read more

Beginning intermittent fast - Day 1   9 y
T.G.I.F - I so needed this day. After 3 rough days with that headache I was at breaking point. This was a much needed turn around. Grateful for this relief.

3:33pm Very very busy day. I woke up with a mild headache. Did my coffee enema and boom headache gone and been gone all day!!! Wahoooo. I felt so great. I decided I wanted to get rid of my highlights so i colored my hair to all dark golden brown. I hit the gym right after for sauna and treadmill. My right hip/knee/ankle felt amazing with brisk walking and running. No pain. Only small bit of tightness with hip. Chiro adjustment was pretty good. My back/hip adjusted amazing. Surprised there was no pain when he slammed my right hip. My neck wasn’t as good as it usually is. I’m su ...   read more

Day 5 - Feeling better   9 y
I'm better from yesterday but still struggling. I am so very tempted to take a pain pill but I am not gonna do it. BTW noticeable cognitive impairment with memory, concentration, word finding, constructing thoughts and expressing verbally or on computer. So please understand if I'm seeming off. Well, the last few entries have probably been off.

Thank God my headache became tolerable and I was able to get some sleep. I think I knowcked out about 9-9:30pm. Last night was a blur. I remember getting my kids to bed and telling them it was already 8:30pm. Ohh I do remember watching TV and having the urge to munch on something...(popcorn and a movie effect). The feeling started to build up as I started to get a sense of deprivation and for a moment my mind rationalized that I’ve been so good for so long why not. I do deserve it. An awareness kicked in and I shot that thought down right away. What the heck! Old habitual thought ...   read more
