Salad Day   10 y  
Fourteenth Day
 
I had two meals today. Both meals were a large salad. I’m getting used to eating one meal a day so I feel like I ate too much. I live close to a take out salad bar. I can make my own salads there. They have a lot of healthy choices for the salad creation. Greens, raw veggies, mushrooms, seeds, nuts, raisins, beans, etc make it easy to eat healthy. I can also add a little of other salads pre made to my creation like quinoa or potato salad. I find adding a little of those makes it more filling. I was only able to stay on the water fast for a little over 28 hours. I was very hungry and I kept thinking about fruit that I had in the refrigerator that would spoil if I did not eat it. I gave in. Here is my food log after the fast: Kiwi Plum Apple Peanut Butter   visit the page



 
Water Fasting Continues into the 2nd Day   10 y  
Thirteenth Day
 
I have now been on a water only fast for over 24 hours so I am legally at the beginning of my second day of water fasting. Everything is going great with very little temptations. When my mind thinks and dreams of food, I have been turning my thoughts to the positives that I will receive by continuing this fast. Hunger comes and goes. I’m pretty sure I can make it for the rest of today. I would like to continue all day tomorrow as well, but that remains to be seen.   visit the page

Twelfth Day
 
I had one meal today of regular food and then started a water only fast. That means I am four hours into the fast. I hope to fast all day tomorrow. We will see if I make it.   visit the page

Eleventh Day
 
I had a little more of the soda left over from yesterday and poured the rest down the sink to remove further temptation. I then had my one meal of regular food which included a large green salad. I am happy with the amount of dressing that I used and I do believe that I can kick the dressing habit soon. I’m adding raisins, carrots and mushrooms which seem to be able to substitute some kind of taste that I receive from the dressing to satisfy me. I don’t plan on eating any more today. Tenth Day
 
Today was another one meal day of regular food, but I did not have the usual large salad meal. I ate some stuff that made me really thirsty. Since I ate the meal I have been craving soda. Water just didn’t quench the thirst. I just went out and bought a 2 liter coke so I am now sipping on that. It’s not what I had planned and sure is not a good choice, but the good news is there are better days ahead.   visit the page

Today was another one meal day. I think I’m getting better at not using so much dressing on my salad. I hardly used any today and I had a large green salad with my meal.   visit the page

I was going to fast the whole day, but I did not make it. I only made it for almost 28 hours. I put some frozen watermelon in my vitamixer and made a watermelon ice treat. It was good, but I was still pretty hungry so I made some oatmeal. With the oatmeal I had almond milk and maple syrup. I also ate one almond when I was making the almond milk. I’m looking forward to losing more weight tomorrow. :)   visit the page

Eighth Day
 
I am over 25 hours into a water fast. I started after my one meal yesterday. I don’t plan on eating any food for the rest of the day. I would like to continue my water fast for a bit longer. I really don’t want to set any commitments for fasting or the food I eat. I feel this may lead to discouragement should I fail to keep it. Discouragement can lead, I believe, to giving up. I would just like to see a mindful effort everyday to do something to make progress to get this weight off. That’s all I’m asking of myself.   visit the page

I went for 25 hours with just water so I consider that a short water fast. I did eat another meal today of regular food and do not plan on eating any more today. Today is another one meal day.   visit the page

Sixth Day
 
I had one meal of regular food again. I am not going to eat anything today but that one meal. I think limiting myself to one meal is also success. The meal included a large green salad. I am limiting the amount of dressing that I use. I love dressing. I would love to learn to eat green salads with no dressing. Adding fruit to the salad works, but I was at a restaurant salad bar and didn’t see anything there that would work for me. I’m looking forward to losing more weight tomorrow.   visit the page

Fifth Day
 
I was very hungry today so I went out to a restaurant and ate a regular food meal. I am not going to be so strict and legalistic with myself that it causes me to completely fall off the wagon. I am determined to lose these thirty pounds. I ate until I was satisfied, but not stuffed. I don’t plan on eating anymore today. I am enjoying my journey so far. I do not feel deprived. Delicious Popsicle Recipe   10 y  
Fourth Day
 
Well, I’m making it through an all mono fruit day. The fruit of choice is watermelon. To keep it interesting I tried watermelon popsicles. They are oh so good! Watermelon Popsicles: Cut chucks of sweet watermelon into sizes of choice. Freeze them. Depending on the size you can stick either a popsicle stick or a toothpick in each one.   visit the page

Second Day
 
I was going to have a mono fruit day, but I was really hungry. I was only mono fruit for about 3/4ths of the day. This is what I ate today. Mangos French Green Beans heated with pasta sauce and cayenne pepper. It was good, but I’m thinking that I could turn this into an even tastier dish by adding some other ingredients like sauteed onions and garlic.   visit the page



 
Tasty Aroma Salad Recipe   10 y  
First Day
 
The first day is coming to a close. I would like to share an exciting recipe with you. Aroma Salad 2 bunches of fresh dill 1 bunch radishes 1 sweet orange with seeds taken out Clean, chop and mix all ingredients together. The orange also serves as a built in dressing. You can adjust the amounts of the ingredients according to your own preferences. This dish is a great one for pot lucks. People are naturally drawn to it due to the aroma given off by the dill. How I Plan to Attack the Problem   10 y  
My goal is to lose thirty pounds
 
It’s the evening of August 2, 2014. It’s very hard for me to lose weight so I am going to attack my problem from a different angle which, I think, will be more aggressive than what I have been doing recently. My goal will be to lose thirty pounds. It seems like a high mountain to climb, but I have the faith that I will do it if I keep my nose to the task. My main focus will be on eating as healthy as I can. I also plan to do some fasting. I know someone who lost a lot of weight by writing down everything that went into her mouth.
