Why some may Disagree 19 y
My favorite generation are the Xer's, they're such wanna be's! And they really do wish they'd taken all those hallucinogenics and burned their bras...even the guys!
Why some people may disagree with you
Several weeks ago I acquired some knowledge that has been very helpful to me. For what it’s worth, I would like to share the essence with you, in the hope that you may benefit as well.
If you have ever wondered why your thinking was so radically different from other people, especially people who are younger or older, you might consider very carefully what I am going to share. I have a good friend, Don Bradley, who is a professor of marketing and executive director of the Small Business Advancement National Center that is located on the campus o ... read more

Greenberg Fires Back at Directors
By JENNY ANDERSON
Published: August 5, 2005
Maurice R. Greenberg, the former chairman and chief executive of the giant insurer American International Group, has challenged the rationale for its $4 billion income restatement, calling many of the items ”exaggerated and unnecessary.”
In a document presented to regulators yesterday, Mr. Greenberg’s lawyers point to many people, including the company’s audit committee and PricewaterhouseCoopers, as being equally responsible for overseeing the company’s complex accounting. It suggests that the company’ ... read more

Leadership 19 y
Plenty lead in our world that are so unaligned in their own structure that they have no business taking on the mission. It is as if they seek to compensate for their lack of alignment by leading...as if this will "make-up" for the already existing deficiencies. Cart before the horse, fix-me, ego-based make me whole please leadership- those least able are most likely to ~
The New Leadership
by Cheri Swales
Monster Contributing Writer
The typical boss of the early 1900s liked to see fear in the faces of employees. By the mid-1900s, that same boss had probably lightened up a bit on workers, focusing instead on building a power base. Fast-forward to today’s corporate climate and the forced march into disgrace of some of America’s most celebrated executives, who leave behind ruined companies, disillusioned employees and shell-shocked investors. Hardly the stuff of progress. So what does it take to lead in these uncertain times?

Perception of Bob 19 y
Bob was a politican for years...and see how he transformed...His politics run towards freedom which according to an old document written a couple hundred years ago, before Communists, and Terrorists, proclaimed freedom for all...I guess if one is a transformed purist..this must mean freedom for Communists and Terroists for us to experience our more peaceful freedom. What a concept.
COMMENT: Perception Is Everything.
Dear A-Letter Reader:
As the saying goes, ’perception is everything’.
Apparently a buyers own perception of a product plays a key role in
their evaluation. Studies show that personal notions of the trust-
worthiness of a product or service influences evaluations, even when
they perceive high risk in that product.
I make this observation because a lot of people have a jaundiced view of
’offshore’ and what it means. I know, because I get such questions
wherever I go. Is ’going offshore’ legal? Is it safe? Is it dangerous?
And that perennial ... read more

The Secret To Finding True Happiness
Imagine you have a glass of water, almost
full to the brim. Now take a pitcher of water
and begin filling this glass... what do you notice?
The glass begins to overflow... there is no room.
Let’s begin with a powerful question...
”Is your glass full up”?
Do you have room in your glass for fresh water
from the pitcher of Life? Or is your glass so
full with ”stuff” that there is no room for the
Newness of Life?
Perhaps your glass is full with harbored emotions,
frustrations from the past, worries over the future

9th~ Hmmmm, well maybe...I’ve seen plenty of examples ignored and I’ve ignored a few myself...maybe this one is wishful thinking? Then again, many of my mentors have been quite helpful....and I picked and chosed from that person’s wisdom because overall I had a great deal of resepct for that individual...so I have followed example also.

ONE disadvantage of being 60 is that you have to get up in the middle of the night, often more than once. But a big advantage of advancing age is that you get to recognize news media silliness when it happens.

This comes to mind in terms of the economic relationship between the United States and China. Partly because a company affiliated with the Chinese government has made a bid to buy Unocal, a large American oil company, there is a lot of talk in the news media about how powerful Chi ... read more

While the Discovery has been orbiting Earth, I’ve been on Mars. More precisely, I’ve been on a desolate island in the Canadian high Arctic with six people in a mock spaceship they’re pretending has landed on Mars. This is a strange exercise, but it is easier to explain than the shuttle’s mission.

WASHINGTON, July 29 - The Senate agreed to shield gun manufacturers and dealers from liability lawsuits on Friday, as Congress broke for a monthlong recess after sending President Bush energy and transportation bills that had been years in the making.

Long sought by the gun lobby, the Senate measure - approved 65 to 31 - would prohibit lawsuits against gun makers and distributors for misuse of their products during the commission of a crime. Senate supporters said th ... read more

Poetry of the Natural God Man
ART
Give to barrows trays and pans
Grace and glimmer of romance,
Bring the moonlight into noon
Hid in gleaming piles of stone;
On the city’s paved street
Plant gardens lined with lilac sweet,
Let spouting fountains cool the air,
Singing in the sun-baked square.
Let statue, picture, park and hall,
Ballad, flag and festival,
The past restore, the day adorn
And make each morrow a new morn
So shall the drudge in dusty frock
Spy behind the city clock
Retinues of airy kings,
Skirts of angels, starry wings,
His fathers shining in bright fables,
His children fed at heavenly tab ... read more
