During a 1 day fast you get all the detox, with none of the peace that comes after a couple of days. A few years ago, I would fast every Wednesday. I was told that God would look kindly on my sacrifice. I was wondering who was I to manipulate the ALmighty? I did this for over a year, then I got really annoyed. The pastor at my former church said that maybe the Lord wasn't pleased with my efforts or attitute. I decided I wasn't pleased with anything and was pissed that I gave up eating on wednesday for nothing. I never experienced the same mind calm and clarity that I did when I fasted for longer periods of time, but I felt the detox. Now when I fast I fast no shorter than a week. I'm currently on a fast now. I'm planning to get pregnant and want to be as clean on the inside as possible prior to conception.
