You don't have to be fasting to get cayenne benefits.
I make up pitchers of lemonade and take cayenne even when I am eating .... it still is working on loosening up the old.
I am not sure if this is helpful to you, but my latest "thing" is to FEEL my FEELINGS rather than go into the addictive behavior of over-eating carbs.
Whole grain .... processed into refined carbs (this is my addiction) .... processed more into alchohol (your addiction).
Same stuff = self-medicating to keep from feeling.
Many people I know who drink say "I have to ... my body aches so much it is the only way I get relief."
Well, they are other than exploring the cause of the stress on the body, and so are poisoning themselves to get through "just another night".
Or, they are living in their wound, having a broken heart, feeling lonely and sorry for themselves. Again, just a method to get through "just another night".
John Bradshaw, therapist and family counseler, said that alcoholics are generally responding to an initial wounding that came in the pre-adolescent years of 8-11 .... some big trauma happened (i.e.: severe emotional abandonment) and a void was created and alcohol is being substituted for addressing that wound and growing up. So they are emotionally stuck at that age. I know people who absolutely revert to that age when drunk.
Foodaholics, on the other hand, suffered the life-altering trauma at the oral-suckling stage post-infancy ... the young toddler, age 1-3. I know I was abandoned at that age.
So, if this is helpful, I don't know. My thought is to have courage with my own life, and choose to be stuck in an ancient wound from my childhood, and instead, take charge of my life.
If one is in one's addiction, one is of little use to the rest of the world.
Each of us has a lot to give and share if we would but reach out, so that is one good reason each of us should first "SAVE OUR SELF" ..... and then go have fun helping others and living our dreams.
Best of luck to you ..... you are to be congratulated for all of your successes and courage to change!
