Sure, you can scrape the inner gel from the outer part of the leaves and throw the glop a blender or processor until smooth and then mix it with a juice. This is how I do it. Some people juice it through the juicer. I've not done that yet. It's very bitter, be warned. The outer leaves make it even more bitter. But mixing the blended gel (about an ounce or so, like a shot glass, it's pretty strong to my tongue) with tart fresh raw Granny Smiths or pineapple works well in masking the bitterness and the sliminess of the gel. At least for me. You may need to play around with it. It's a good pick-me-up during the low point of the day.
Drinking aloe, for me, can also loosen the bowels and it helps clean out the colon. Be forewarned just in case.
You can also use the blended glop as a facial mask, I swear my skin loves it. This comes in handy during the hot, humid months, too. I keep Aloe leaves in the fridge just for sunburns, etc. I work in my yard alot, so... and the Floridian sun is very unforgiving. Cool aloe is absolute heaven during those times. Cool aloe goes down the hatch better, too.
I'd like to try it with the propolis as mentioned in the article.
Have fun experimenting!
