That funny looking orange stuff is LICHENS! Aren't they gorgeous?

When I was a child, I would walk in the woods (Indiana) and there would be lichens like this all over the place, in addition to emerald green velvet moss that would grow on the roots and trunks of trees. I would believe fairies lived here... the moss was their lawns. The lichens their benches... But as you pointed out so eloquently, things aren't the way seem.

So, I'm keeping all my money, thank you. (LOL)
