mentioned in the article about chemically-contaminated workers who helped clean up the Exxon Oil spill--he is an expert in multiple chemical sensitivity and has a clinic in Dallas, Texas where he diagnoses and treats people with MCS. He has been considered "fringe" by the AMA because they do not recognize MCS as being a "legitimate" diagnosis. He is well-respected by environmental medicine specialists who work with those who have MCS, however, including my doctor, Dorothy Calabrese, MD. When you look at the symptoms of these workers, they share very similar symptoms to veterans with Gulf War Syndrome. They were exposed to chemical toxins that did acute damage, and probably have developed severe MCS in addition to the damage done during the original chemical exposure. Exxon's cover-up of health problems by workers and government laxity re: investigating this is again akin to what has been happening with Veterans with Gulf War Syndrome, and what happened with Vietnam Veterans with Agent Orange (a very powerful herbicide used as a defoliant sprayed on the forests of Vietnam).
