"You throw bread into the water...
in Jewish Renewal circles, you write it on a paper...
but since we are all getting so ecological...
now they write the sin on a leaf...
Liora Leah...would support that one I am sure...."
Yep! actually, at the Taschlich ceremony I went to in Long Beach, we threw bread in the water; the seagulls had a great time eating it all up--watching them, I wondered if all those "sins" we were throwing away would be toxic for the gulls--but then I figured, the gulls would just poop it out, as they usually do, thereby transforming the "sins" to a biodegradable, if messy, form that Mother Earth can handle!
