Yes, we must speak up and speak out! It is good to focus on the positive, but we have to be realistic about the situation in order to make positive changes, as Lapis wrote in his comment.

I've been listening to Wayne Dyer tapes; his take on the world is this: Accept the way the world is without judgment. Then, you can make changes. In other words, it doesn't do any good to get all bent out of shape about the things you don't like; instead, look for solutions instead of bitching and complaining.

Well, I say it's ok to express emotions by bitching and complaining. Once you've gotten this out of your system, THEN you can sit down and come up with positive solutions. For me, if I'm really really pissed off, I can't see clearly enough to even think of solutions. Let me express, get it off my chest, then I can, in a more calm light, work for positive change.
