Perhaps you were just venting but I wanted to throw my 2 cents in. Sorry for the intrusion if that is the case. You are so right about friends and mates outlooks on health affecting your own. When I hung out with obese people, I was morbidly obese. There was a negativity that hung around them and their inability to break weight goals.

Do your fast and diets for YOU. When you stop listening to the doubters and haters, that's when you really see a change in your life. Fasting (I know!) is hard enough without someone harassing you about it. I went from 280 to 155 lbs in about 5 years. I tried everything. Stick with what works for your body. I listened to other's diets and tried most out there. Finally settled on something most my "friends" would never try and doubted I could stick to.

I'm now trying to stay vegan and was raw for a good 2 years. I consider myself a stamina athlete. Funny thing about those "friends". When I started succeeding, they started getting jealous and did the "fade" on me. Which was fine by me. They are still unhealthy & miserable. Shrug. Who needs 'em?
