Hi, I was recently diagnosed with lichen planus. It started with a few bumps, then my fingernails started getting really ridged & my cuticles basically disapeared on all my nails incl toes. then it attacked my mouth and my feet were covered, then it crept up my legs, my back, lady parts, etc! i went to doctor 3 times in a 5 wk period and she kept saying "It looks like scabies" and sent me home more upset than when i got there. my husband then insisted i go to a dermatologist and get a biopsy to find out if it really was what i had diagnosed myself with, by reading about rashes over the internet. I did & the biopsy proved my research and knowledge to be true! i have been trying new creams the derma. prescribes and i now have found one that seems to be helping a lot - it takes a few weeks but i do seem to be healing. it is called Halobetasol Propionate 0.05%( generic)
im using a mouth elixer for my oral LP that incl.s Nystatin, lidocain, antibiotic & benadryl- its doesnt really help, but numbs it.
i use glycerine-natural soap now, did a full body detox, started eating fresh veg and fruit and lean meats, drink lots of water, exercise 5 times per week & i try not to stress altho its hard with this disgusting rash...
my hands dont seem to be healing, i think its because i wash the cream off when i wash my hands.
I truly believe i got this from high blood sugar- from too many carbs and processed sugar and foods, and lack of exercise and the MAIN thing that really set it off was STRESS! i lost 1/2 of my clients due to the economy- my $ situation went bleak over nite.
LP has definately changed my life! i hate this disease!
i am a sun lover and cant go out in it now... I cant wear shorts because my legs are disgusting now & its HOT in Florida! I cant eat foods i love...
BUT i do feel my health will be better and i will live longer DUE to the changes i have made!
i wish u luck my friend and the main thing i have learned is:
THE SOONER U ACCEPT IT AND LEARN TO COPE WITH IT; MAKE A FEW CHANGES TO YOUR LIFESTYLE- & FIND THE RITE MEDS TO TREAT IT...YOU WILL GET BETTER. DONT TRY TO GET AGGRESSIVE WITH IT-IT ONLY MAKES IT WORSE! Add This Message To Your CureZone Favorites!
