Dear O,
I just skimmed through the original forums that your comment links up with--the one that started out as a post about the U.S. government's authorization for the use of torture, and the one that started out as a comment on what McCain said about the Pledge of Allegiance; both ended up talking about Native Americans...
I must say that these two forums are full of anger and vitriol, and I found them most disturbing for the personal attacks involved, as well as the graphic videos that I didn't look at once I took a glimpse at the bloody content...
I do believe in free speech; it's one of the things that makes this country different from most other countries is our Bill of Rights, and that people should be allowed to express themselves and their opinions, including disagreement with someone else's opinons.
However, having said that, no matter what one's stand is on these issues, and on politics in general, I think it's best to leave personal attacks out of it, especially on a forum such as Curezone which is meant to educate. This, of course, is my opinion.
I have to admit that I am a bleeding heart, card-carrying member of the ACLU, white liberal woman; I've said so elsewhere on my blogs. I'd hate to receive the kind of responses that were posted on these above-mentioned forums for having said that; they literally turned my stomach, and caused my heart to pound with anxiety, more so than than the graphic videos/photos.
I am not going to post my opinions on the issues the forum raises because I don't want to get in the middle of this personal bashing.
I'll just add that I care deeply about the Earth and about indigenous peoples and their culture. I also care deeply for the Western culture into which I was born right here in the U.S.A.
I also know that there is no "perfect" culture and that I feel it is both wise not to "trash" a culture nor is it wise to idealize a culture. There exists both positive and negative attributes to all cultures. All of us, all 6+billion of us on the planet, are responsible for our Earth. We have all contributed to the problems of the Earth, and we all can contribute to the Earth's healing.
I'll leave it to this message from Spirit to address this further, if you choose to read it:

Blessings on this Full Moon day!
