You can do it! I have done a 40 day fast before, and I ate raw for a long time keeping the weight off. But, I too, gained a lot back as soon sa I got off of the raw. I am trying another large fast. Just a tip: I am finding that taking a mutli-vitamin each day is making ALL of the difference in the world.
Also, my bible study teach gave me this tip when I did my first: Make small goals. 40-days can seem overwhelming sometimes. Therefore, my first goal was three days. Then 5, then 7 - my first week, then 10 - 1/4 of the way, then 14 - 2 week mark, then 15, then 20, then 21 - 3 week mark, then 25, then 28. And so on.
28 was very important to me, because it is said that a good or bad habit is made or broken by 28 days. Thus the 28 day reference for detox clinics. Plus, I believe Daniel prayed and fasted for 28 days before the angel was able to make it to him in the book of Daniel. I could be wrong; it could be 21. Oh well.
You're going to do great!
