Fred,
I live near Atlanta and have a swamp behind the house. I also have an inground pool. The water table is very high because of the swamp. The level of the swamp water is probably about 3 feet below the level where my sprinkler pump is located. When the pool was just a hole in the ground, the deep end was nearly full of water, during a 3 yr drought. A pipe had to be run outside the pool, to the bottom of the hole to pump this water out until the liner was in and the pool was filled (and if the liner is ever replaced). Later, I attached a 1 hp jet pump to this pipe and use the water for lawn irrigation. It will deliver about 12GPM for just over an hour before running dry. It recovers some capacity in about 45 minutes. My guess would be, waiting 1.5 hours for full recovery. Even though the free water is great, during droughts, I still can not keep my grass irrigated to my satisfaction. My question is this, could I benefit from adding one of these well points to complement the "under the swimming pool well"? If so, wouldn't I only have to go down 10 feet or so to hit water? If so, how many GPMs could I gain from this? I have good ole Ga red clay for dirt!
Thanks,
