Unfortunately you are correct...  Most people in the USA are not savvy as to the rest of the world...   This is part of the problem most of the people, I have met over seas tell me that the Yankees want to tell us how to do everything, but they do not have any idea what we have or need!!  

Then there was a test case set up several years ago that demonstrates how geography challenged most American citizens are!!  A fake Canadian Board crossing was placed in the North Nevada Desert...  People would drive up and when challenged on why and how long they were going to be in Canada; did not have a clue!!  They did not know that Nevada does not come within several hundred ( Approx 750 ) miles of Canada... HUH!!

We in this country lack any knowledge beyond our TV sports and vacation spots; for the most part...  They only care about their fun and enjoyment...

This is also true of the way the present Congress is acting...   {Check out www.mudvillegazette.com )   Saw a newspaper article that said that " The welfare of the Iraq people was not as well off as presented by the US Armed Forces"  Maybe not ; but just how well off are they going to be; when the US forces are  forced to pull out; and leave them to the saluter and violence of the Islamic extremist??  Congress is more interested in political points than what is best for other people!!

It is too bad we do not really try to understand the plight and ideas of others in this world!!
