Thanks for the support. I've been so busy with life, I haven't celebrated my recovery yet with other people, except insofar as I've spoken of it on CureZone.

At times the 12 step recovery scene can seem like an addiction in and of itself, you're right about that. There's where their "take what you need and leave the rest" clause comes in handy.

What I choose to not take on is the obligatory sense of absolutely having to go to the meetings in order to remain in recovery. Certainly it's a gift to have the fellowship of friends in recovery to turn to, and to offer support and a listening heart when someone else in recovery is struggling, but I have not found it essential to my recovery to attend a specific number of meetings per week, or per month, or whatever. My recovery is rooted in my life on earth, in the 12 steps and in other tools and supports and ideas and ideals that guide me along my way, in my heart, in my spirit, in the spiritual realm, in the universe.

I have read what you've written about "The Secret" and still wonder if you enjoyed the Oprah show on the 8th!!
