Here is my terrible story: my beautiful talented son, 23, started using crystal meth and became psychotic, he had never been violent in his life, quite the opposite. We've always had a close loving relationship. Coming down off meth, this was in Oct., he walked about 7 miles to my home, I was alone, he was also drunk. We didn't argue. I was sitting at my computer and the next thing I know he was behind me with a knife at my throat. I fought for my life and escaped. He was arrested and convicted of a felony assault with a deadly weapon. He served about 6 mos. in jail and is soon to be released. He hasn't gotten any treatment in jail. I'm not allowed to have contact with him. The person visiting him in jail is his meth using girlfriend. She will be there when he is released. I know meth is the most addictive substance known, there is something like only a 6% cure rate. I also know he is one of those who become psychotic on it. My question is this: for those who have quit this drug, what worked? Is there any way, if he does meth, which appears to be likely, is there any way to block the psychotic response? Does anyone know places in CA where meth treatment is especially successful? It should be clear that this drug is the drug from the deepest level of hell. Anyone out there reading this who doubts this doesn't know meth or the crimes committed on meth. Thanks so much for any help you can give me. Add This Message To Your CureZone Favorites!
