Parents being urged by schools to medicate their kids for ADHD had better think twice. Every time behavioural issues become a "medically treatable problem", you can bet that there's a pharmaceutical company out there pushing their product no matter what the risks.

Scientists study revived 1918 flu virus
        http://www.kansascity.com/mld/kansascity/news/breaking_news/14197285.htm
In October, Tumpey and a team led by Dr. Jeffery Taubenberger of the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology announced they had achieved a remarkable feat. Not only did they discover the virus' entire genetic code, they brought it back to life in a tightly controlled laboratory at CDC offices in Atlanta.
The virus that had swept the globe, infecting more than one-fourth of the world's population, existed on earth once again.

Still left untouched: Why supposed 9-11 mastermind Mohammed Atta was a regular visitor on Abramoff's casino ship in the weeks before 9-11.

Meatpacker Sues Feds Over Mad Cow Test
        http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/printstory.mpl/ap/politics/3743815
A Kansas meatpacker sued the government on Thursday for refusing to let the company test for mad cow disease in every animal it slaughters.
Creekstone Farms Premium Beef says it has Japanese customers who want comprehensive testing. The Agriculture Department threatened criminal prosecution if Creekstone did the tests, according to the company's lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court in Washington.

I just cannot fathom this. What is the Department of Agriculture nervous that consumers will discover with this additional testing?

FBI casts 'overly broad net' in war against terror
        http://www.rawstory.com/news/2006/FBI_casts_overly_broad_net_in_0326.html
The FBI, while waging a highly publicized war against terrorism, has spent resources gathering information on antiwar and environmental protesters, and activists who feed vegetarian meals to the homeless, the agency's internal memos show.

U.S. May Seek Criminal Charges Against Kim Jong-il
        http://english.chosun.com/w21data/html/news/200603/200603260001.html
The report says the U.S. may try to press criminal charges against the North Korean leader in a similar way to how it overthrew Manuel Noriega, the former Panamanian leader. Noriega stood trial in the U.S. on a number of charges including drug trafficking and was imprisoned in 1992.

Does any one remember HOW Noriega was taken out in Panama? I truly would not bet on the U. S. trying this in North Korea.

Gas tax on miles, not gallons, tested
        http://upi.com/NewsTrack/view.php?StoryID=20060325-031322-1742r
"The existence of such a database, which would, for the first time in history, allow for the creation of detailed daily itineraries of every driver, raises obvious privacy concerns," said David L. Sobel, general counsel at the Electronic Privacy Information Center, a civil liberties group in Washington

Yet another way for government to know exactly where you are at every moment, and tax you at the same time. Unless We the People stop this foolishness, watch for this - coupled with a huge spurt in privately owned and operated toll roads - to become a growing trend.

Radioactive Tank No. 9 comes limping home
        http://www.sfbayview.com/110905/radioactivetank110905.shtml
Radioactive Tank No. 9 comes limping home
Across the plains of Kansas, destroyed, radioactive Abrams tanks, perched on railroad flatcars, rolled towards an uncertain future. Only one thing was certain. They would be radioactive forever. This would be their everlasting death mask. The Pentagon deceptively calls it "depleted uranium."
The enduring vigorous stupidity of the U.S. military pretends that radiation is one of those things that if you can't see it, it can't hurt you. They are thoroughly delusional, of course. A National Academy of Sciences report released June 30, 2005, finds that there is no safe level of radiation. Any radiation is bad.

Another explanation is that the U.S. Army and other branches of the military are far from stupid. They are, in fact, the most lethal and carefully planned military in the history of the world. The extensive use of weaponized uranium oxide gas, aerosols and dust is not an accident or an oversight. They did it on purpose.

If this is true, they purposely used a genocidal weapon over at least a 15-year period. No, this is not a callous mistake of empire; it is a calculated act of genocide to weaken the oil- and gas-rich countries of Central Asia, including Iraq. Take your choice: they are either stupid or genocidal monsters.

        US-China trade war looms
        http://observer.guardian.co.uk/business/story/0,,1739428,00.html?gusrc=rss
American senators could vote this week to slap tariffs of 27.5 per cent on all Chinese goods, amid a rising clamour of protectionist anger on Capitol Hill.

We need to develop products in this country (other than weaponry) that the world actually wants to buy.
When outsourcing was first touted by Congress and corporations, no one ever really thought about the consequences to this country's economy. The American manufacturing base is very fragile right now, and every day, companies are closing their doors here and off-shoring/ outsourcing our manufacturing.Slapping tarrifs on Chinese goods is like touching up an xray so it doesn't reveal there's a broken bone.
