Blog: The Master Cleanse Express
Taking an inventory of the stuff I packed for the Journey....the Master Cleanse Basics were the things which are most important to remember for the ride!
Lemons and limes! oh my!
Most people use lemons to make their Master Cleanse drink, but limes are also allowed and make for a nice change.
http://www.theworldwidegourmet.com/fruits/citrus/medicinal.htm
Maple Syrup
The cleanse recipe calls for Pure Maple Syrup. Most people prefer grade B or C since it is nutritionally more dense than grade A. The darker the syrup, the less refined and more nutritious it is.
I prefer NOW brand Organic grade B syrup.
Cayenne Pepper
I buy my pepper in bulk from my health food store. I look for the highest amount of H.U. or "heat units" I can find. I use 90,000 HU ground organic Frontier brand cayenne pepper.
Water!
Water is very important for cleansing since we mix it with our Lemonade, and also drink water in addition to keep hydrated and toxins flowing. It is recommended that you drink half your body weight in ounces of water per day!
I use filtered water which I then energize through my Nikken PiMag Gravity Filter. I just bought a distiller to try out with this cleanse too. One can use any pure water which is preferrably clear of contaminants and chlorine and fluoride. Britta and Pur filters seem to be popular also.
Sea Salt
I use Himalayan Salt but any sea salt which is not iodized will work. All salts are not the same and so taste is a factor. RealSalt, Redmond's, and Celtic Grey seem to be poplular. Salt is used in the Salt Water Flush which most people use once a day to help facilitate moving old fecal debris from the body.

Laxative Tea
Others use Senna or Yogi tea, but I prefer to use Smooth Move tea which comes in two flavors, Original, and Chocolate. Drunk last thing at night, by morning, your body is ready to begin the work of moving out old toxins and body debris.

Peppermint Herbal Tea
Sometimes, you just need something to soothe the tummy and relax the mind. Peppermint tea is just the thing to help make things alright!

Together, these are the ingredients for success and have been used by thousands to improve their health, function, and outlook on life.

I am wanting to star the MCnext week and with all that I'm reading in this forum I'm quite confused. I thought the MC was the cleanse for everything. What are the others that need to be done to do the MC? and tea? I thought you could only have SW and Lemonade. Please help....anything...thanks lots!

Hello Moondance,
I can highly recommend reading the Master Cleanse book and you can discover what Master Cleansing can do for you.
http://healthandlight.com/TheMasterCleanse.pdf
http://www.geocities.com/HotSprings/Spa/7244/master_cleanse.html
My blog entry, the Master Cleanse Basics will provide you with the ingredients for a basic MC. There are extra things like body brushing and such which can add to the experience, but the basics are the Salt Water Flush, the Lemonade, water, and the lax tea at night. These issues are covered under many entries in my blog as well, you can visit the MC forum and archives for a wealth of information. Many other blogs on the topic also are available for your research.
You can expect these benefits on the Master Cleanse:
To dissolve and eliminate toxins and congestion that have formed in any part of
the body.
To cleanse the kidneys and the digestive system.
To purify the glands and cells throughout the entire body.
To eliminate all unusable waste and hardened material in the joints and muscles.
To relieve pressures and irritation in the nerves, arteries, and blood vessels.
To build a healthy bloodstream.
To keep youth and elasticity regardless of our years.

I hope this helps some~~!

I get my Now Organic Maple Syrup Grade B from this place.
http://search.store.yahoo.com/cgi-bin/nsearch?catalog=vitanet&query=now+maple...
They have free shipping on orders fifty bucks. Its a good time to get a natural deodorant or some probiotics, natural toothpaste, herbal mouthwash, and I bought my stuff to make a Castor Oil Pack from these folks too. I bought 4 gallons of Maple Syrup last year and only used it for Master Cleansing. I considered it a bargain.
A good local grocery may have sea salt but maybe not. Again, easy to find online. I buy Himalayan as can only find it online too.
I use non-organic lemons since I do not have a good access to them. You live in Florida so I am assuming you may be able to find some pretty decent fruit.
I hope this helps. Good luck with your cleanse~~
be happy, be well,
Zoe

first of all, thanks for all your help!! I was gonna ask about that herbal stuff (bathroom products)...while on the MC is it better to use natural toothpaste and deodorant and mouthwash? what about soap for bathing? thanks mama!! I also asked in the forum about my boyfriend who wants to do this with me but he is concerned because he does manual labor for daily work, is it possible for him?

Let this page load up and you can see what I liked to use. There are many options, I try to avoid things like aluminum in my deodorant and fluoride in my toothpaste.
You will be able to find many choices online or at a health food store or upscale grocery...

I would recommend your boyfriend trying the cleanse on his days off to see how he feels. The cleanse can be demanding and stressful if there is a significant amount of detox. People do use the cleanse but especially if this is his first cleansing experience he may consider the weekend start.
I wish you well,
Zoe

thanks, you have helped alot!! Is there a special bath I should take as opposed to a normal shower while on the MC? and should I body brush while on it also? sorry for all the questions, I'm sure after my first time I will start picking things up on my own and be able to pass on knowledge as you do...karma...thanks!!
but I can brush my teeth and wash as usual, right? just better to use natural products

Sure, in the detox process, bathing can be beneficial. Curezone has a bath forum you can check out.
Sure, brushing your teeth is important even when you are not cleansing, but is especially nice/necessary when you are.
Sure body-brushing is optional but a good way to help move lymph.
If you are really thinking you want to follow in my footsteps, I can
recommend, reading copious amounts of info online covering a range of cleansing
protocols. Certainly, FAQs, and during my first and second thirty day cleanse,
for motivation and to find answers to my own questions, I read in the archives
and collected info for reference. I am talking an average of 10 pages a day.
You may want to investigate some of the other forums like the Bath one, the Salt one, the Bowel Cleansing page, the Liver Flush Page, the Parasite Page, and many others
which contribute to a comprehensive understanding of cleansing and body maintenance.
I see you are asking questions in the forum which is good since you can get a wider
array of answers.
I wish you well on your healing path and in dealing with your karma.
be happy, be well,
Zoe
