Dazzle, you are an encyclepedia of Juice Fasting Information! We've got to continue to make sure people back at the forum know about your blog. I wish there was some way to make information stick on the main page so that people don't have to skim through 100s of messages to find this valuable information.
Also, thank you for the encouraging words. :) It really helps to know you've got support from others, especially when they've been there and done that. :) And you're right about being able to accomplish great tasks while fasting. The biggest fasting myth out there is that you have to stop living during a fast. It shocks people when I tell them that you just keep on going as normal.
I'll post on how the marathon went. I'm so nervous (only because it's my first marathon) and excited at the same time!
Take care and I'll see you around. :)

I'm LOL @ making sure people on the forums know about my blog... LOLOL Well, when someone asks a question that an article written by a professional can answer I'll refer them to that, to document what I am saying. I'd much rather people inform themselves and educate themselves before embarking on a juice fast. If they would, then they would know drinking alcohol on a juice fast is a no no. They would understand and expect the detox symptoms and be prepared. And so on and so forth... In the meantime, I try to do my best to inform. I don't want to offend anyone, ever. But I'd much rather someone be offended and informed, than to continue in an uninformed manner and potentially harm themselves.
Well, I meant everything I said to you... I am very proud of your stunning feat. You are a most remarkable person. I have my calender marked for the date of your 10k. I'll be cheering you on.
*hugs*

I don't think my tongue would fall off, but if I would have just these juices for my menu for a while I know a lot of toxic waste would fall off...!
Thanks for the recipes!
So, what are Chinese leaves I wonder?

You know, I have never been able to figure that out. I don't remember where these recipes all came from. I've tried most all of them a few times over. I've substituted the Chinese leaves with other greens such as cilantro, parsley, sweet basil, mint leaves... the list is endless...
I think I am going to edit that particular juice recipe... Thanks for the heads up.

Okay, I did some "creative Googling" and found this:
"Chinese leaves are like a toss between a cabbage and a crunchy lettuce, with a delicious peppery flavour."
also --
"Chinese leaves
Also sometimes referred to as Peking cabbage, Chinese leaves are long slender leaves, pale green in colour. They have a very subtle cabbage flavour and a really crisp texture. Chinese leaves have the ability to absorb other flavours and are often combined with rich or strong-tasting foods."
I think ARUGULA would be a good substitute -- it's got the peppery lettuce thing going on (and I am always trying to get out of eating cabbage anyhow). ;)
Hmm...I wonder if that might mean that I SHOULD have cabbage???

Sound great... will try them... Word to the wise watch the source of the ice used... Knew some people who went overseas and had controlled drinks, but they used the local ice from local water and bad results... Keep up the good stuff... See Ya... K

Alot of these juices have celery in them. I am not a fan. It makes the juice feel tainted.
I am just coming off of a 4 day juice fast from Erewhon in Los Angeles.
It was 6 juices total. 2 Green juices, 1 Alkaline, 1 Carrot/ Orange/ Ginger, 1 Lemon Ginger (split morning and night) and 1 Almond milk w/dates and vanilla. And a booster shot of nasty tasting elixers.
I just finished this morning. I am haveing 'hunger pangs' and they are very painfull.
2 questions. Will the pangs go away with food? Can I continue to drink juices for breakfast and just have veggies for the next few days?
And do I have to put celery into my drinks for the salt content? I feel it ruins the taste and freshness of the drink.
Please advise.
Thanks!
