Blog: Kissing Fatigue Goodbye
I have been doing what I call "splashing" to refresh myself during the day or in the morning or at night. At a moment of negetive stress, I might go to the cupboard and get a jar, fill it with luke-warm water and add a drop of my favorite essential oil, Lavander. Over the bathroom sink I will smile in the mirror and splash this scented water on my face. I'll turn the focet on to hear the rushing water. Pouring it slowly on my face it will feel cool and refreshing, the aroma is sweet and breathing in the freshness reminds me to think on good things. A waterfall where flowers grow above the stream is delightful!
Taking this refreshing moment has given me a new spunk to spring back out there and do what's got to be done. Remember to smile and take things with a splash. You'll enjoy life better if you can just appriciate the little joys, like water and Lavander.
Some other scents that are lovely include Jasmine Essential Oil, Tangerine Essential Oil and Peppermint Essential Oil. (I use NOW Essential Oils, from Vitaglo.)

Have you tried hydrosols? This is the water that's left after the essential oil has been extracted. They have the same properties as the oils but in lesser amounts. However, spraying these on your face really do effect you emotionally, psychologically and spiritually. Not to mention making your skin so much nicer.
My whole family loves the hydrosols... our favorite is Neroli, which is from the bitter orange. It soothes the spirit... I swear no matter what crisis is occuring, spraying Neroli in my face always brings a smile. We used it when my daughter was giving birth to her first child. She was so soothed, she didn't uttered a cry. The nurses and docs were, needless to say, quite impressed and they, too, loved the scent.
Give it a try. I get mine from Nature's Gift http://www.naturesgift.com/ .

This is why I love this site so much!
I really like rose water. It's so light and feminine... reminds me of my garden which I need more than ever in mid-winter. It can be sprayed as you described as an alternative. Cheap too!
Quick tip - if you don't have a diffuser or warmer, apply some oils (labeled as "home" or "household") onto a burning lightbulb with a cotton swab (lightly!). Immediate scent diffusion. I prefer White Gardenia over the oils labeled household.

I'll used to have some glycerin rose water which I used for sunburns and face wash. It was delightful! I will look for rose Essential Oil when I get my next set. (I'm getting started on a nice collection.)
Thanks for the lightbuld tip, I will try it soon!
