Blog: Cleanse My Bulimic little Secret
So it's now one week since I began my new eating plan & have not binged.
Mind strong all week long. Yet tonight for a brief second while I was reading my girls their bedtime story--amazing how it just come out of nowhere! A seed was planted.
So the big bad wolf wants to eat a chicken stew and decides to fatten up a chicken by bringing 100 pancakes, tons of doughnuts, cakes...simple illustrations that triggered the Hhmmm, so gooooood! and in the back of my mind I thought about going to the store tomorrow to get all doughnuts and little debbie snacks. Uggh!
I try to be prepared for triggers, but that one came out of nowhere.
Keeping busy is so helping, especially getting a new puppy. So cute & lots of work...which with my schedule, who needs it. But I believe this new baby is also a God send. He is helping & holding my hand. He probably always has been..I just never held on.
I will hold on tight as ever & pray to get through tomorrow.

Mariposa,
Wow!!!! I am so proud of you. It sounds as if you are doing so well and have a great handle on what it takes to succeed. The low-carb diet sounds right - we all know our triggers, and the "not an option" mantra is a good one. As for a glass or two (or four) of wine once in awhile, I always remember what my OB/GYN told me when I was pregnant - if a glass of wine relaxes you, it is okay. It would be worse for the baby for you to be really stressed. Just knowing it was okay, I was really able to just drink one and very seldom even wanted that. I guess my point is that I don't think it would be reasonable of you to try to give up everything (sweets, bingeing, purging, alcohol) all at once. Go easy on yourself. What you have accomplished so far is magnificent.
While I have never purged, I certainly binge. It is the sweet stuff that makes me go crazy, but then sometimes salty, too. Then just some leftovers out of the fridge, then some more sweet stuff. You know? I am really working on it. I am doing the Master Cleanse right now and it is really good for me to not even THINK about food for awhile.
I just wanted to say, "Keep up the good work and good luck".
Love,
Marie
