Eurasian Eagle Owl
I got to hold a Eurasian eagle owl at an Indian powwow at the Sussex County Fairgrounds, Sussex County, New Jersey; this is the largest owl species in the world, with a 6 foot wingspan. I also got to hold a golden eagle some years later in Budapest, Hungary. Eagles are actually extremely dangerous, but this one seemed to like me and put its left wing on my head. It had a hood on (so it can't see to grab one by the neck) but, as I returned into the crowd of about 100 people, it was continuously looking in my direction. I'm not exactly sure how that happened with a hood on, which prevented it from seeing. I knew Dr. Heinz Meng a little bit and asked him if he'd ever had eagles, and he said, "No, too dangerous".
