Caugh up phlegm with red tip daily, worm in throat?

Since I have been suffering with this parasite or whatever it is I feel like something is in my throat, usually after eating something sweet...then I always hack one of these out, most of them way bigger! What is it, worm or just mucus? And if just mucus then why is there always a red tip? Anyone have this?
