A few folks have posted with a similar theme: I'm getting goo/sand/cloudy stuff but no stones. It's always seemed to me that it doesn't matter exactly what is congesting the liver or taking up space in the gallbladder. However, most of these folks seem to feel that they've failed in some way because they didn't get stones.
In your case it's obviously helped. The way I see it, if your black globs were preventing bile to be stored and concentrated in the gallbladder, that would explain your symptoms. Now that there's less goo there's more bile and better digestion can occur. This of course would give you more energy. Many of us have experienced this (albeit most with stones).
BTW, has the color of your BMs changed? To dark brown from tan or gray? This would be another indication that indeed there is bile where there wasn't bile before.
