Folks we are going to look at some of the actives of some of the southerners, down in Dixie... 

Sorry but I will have to get back with you as something came up, you know those Yankees...  { Nothing against yankees just there are so many of them, and so many of  them want to come live down in dixieland..} They would mess up a good pig sticking... Don't you think??

Back to the swimming hole down at sugar creek, there must be a hundred or so by that name, as well as Turkey creek down south....  Well these creeks run thru the southland and most are dark, and kind of dark red wine colored...  That is from all the Tanic acid caused by the trees and other plants which are in the swamps...   By the way folks the swamps are the water filters of nature..    Some gators and what not live in them by we did no never mind as that...  We would just go jump in and swim...  Some times use a rope swing to get out in the middle of the creek...  The water is usually very good except after a big "Gully Washer"... Then it would take a few days to clear up....

Other actives include fox and coon hunting.... All you need is a good cool nite, a pack of hounds, some ammo, a couple of good friends, a nice field with a big camp fire and some refreshments....   Well we would get all our stuff together and go down by the river, {You city slicker all know that animals have to drink, so this is the best place to have the hounds pick up a scent trail....   Either coon or fox did not make no never mind to us....   The dogs would go off barking and sniffing for the rascales...  We sit down by the camp fire and tell some tall tales... {We might get to some later, stay tuned}  Listen to the dogs, if they got a coon treed then they would let out a lot of baying, and howling...   The chances of catching a fox was slim as one fox is smarter than the whole pack of hounds...   If we was really interested we would send someone out to ferret out the coon, otherwise we would just head back to the house, the dogs would come on back in the morning, for chow...  

So you see it ain't all bad down south folks...   Maybe you might just want to come down and visit sometime...   

We will have some good stories just as soon as I get shook free of this trap I'm in....
