Just because you don't like history doesn't mean that you get rid of it......

Dear friends:

People need to learn that you do not have to throw away all your knowledge, in order to build a better community; Just need to make room for something more...

To rewrite or ignore your own history, is especially not only stupid, wrong, but  sheer folly....   The only thing one accomplishes in doing so, is to try to live a lie and then attempt to have others who follow to believe that lie...  This is apparently what the City of Atlanta, GA  is attempting to do....

Over the last twenty five years; since the city political balance of power has shifted to majority black.....  There has been a series of changes made in the city, to remove any association with or about the Confederecy.... Which was part of the history of the city as well as Dixie...    Like it or not.....

The city has changed many names that was associated with or places named after a historical person from the confederate history period....  Taken down signs and markers as to the "Battle of Atlanta" 1864 period, and in the past couple of months has decided to sell {thus remove the actual history} all of the city museum pieces from the "Civil War Period"......   Refer to the article  in Wall Street Journal by Dan Morse; Thursday 28th April 2005.....  As well as many recent TV news stories.....

What kind of out come would you expect, if this type of action is carried out?? What will [ epically the Atlanta ]  school children who are not getting much real history now know??    The answer is the action will severely limit what people know and obviously lead them in to the dark on the history of that era....

Future Black Children will ask" you say that hundreds of years ago our people were brought here from Africa  as slaves?"  But we don't know anything about this period of time, because it has been removed from the history....   How can we see what has gone on before us, if you removed it from us???   You say study; but have removed  that which you did not agree with.... (Confederate History period of Atlanta)    Is that not removing the truth? The truth is what ever happened... period!

We can not just ignore that with which we do not agree....  What ever the truth is IT IS....  Live with it ......   DUH...   Just because you don't like something doesn't make go away.....    Some people need to recognize history for what it is..... or was!! You do not have to like history to read or study it, just come to understand what did happen, and some of the whys...
