Saturn-Neptune opposition continues * Jupiter-Uranus square takes a
break * Mercury remains retrograde for a bit longer * Venus still
opposes Neptune and conjoins Saturn * Mars quincunxes Jupiter * Sun
quincunxes Neptune * Sun sesquiquads Jupiter * Mars squares Neptune
and Saturn * Sun quincunxes Pluto * Mercury quincunxes Neptune * Sun
enters Leo * Mercury semisquares Saturn * Sun sesquiquads Uranus *
Venus goes retrograde * Mercury quincunxes Neptune

The longest-lasting aspect is the opposition of Saturn and Neptune,
which began in 2005 and will continue in orb until mid-August of this
year, 2007. The reality principle, Saturn, is brought face-to-face
with our innate human tendency to retreat into fantasy, which is
represented by Neptune. These two drives cannot blend. Usually, we
simply alternate between paying attention to reality and trying to
escape it. The only good thing about this combination is that each
planet's best side is the antidote for the other one's worst side -
positive Saturn's tendency to be realistic, responsible and hard-
working is the antidote to negative Neptune's spaciness; whereas
positive Neptune's compassion is the antidote to negative Saturn's
cruelty and coldheartedness.

Another long-running aspect is the square of Jupiter (expansion,
success) and Uranus (innovation, surprises, upsets), which began in
mid-December of 2006. These two planets will be out of orb from July
3 until late September, so things may be a little less exciting for a
while.

Mercury remains retrograde until July 9, and in its Storm until July
18. The Storm is the slow period before and after Mercury changes its
apparent direction of motion. This entire period is associated with
screwups in communication, and also with making decisions which have
to be reversed later on. It is best to spend this time following up
on decisions previously made, and reviewing rather than innovating.

Venus (love, beauty, tact) continues conjoining Saturn (frustration,
limitation, delay) and opposing Neptune (illusion, deception, self-
deception) until July 17. There is an unfortunate tendency to
alternate between, on the one hand, seeing all your relationships
through rose-colored glasses, and, on the other, feeling a level of
despair that can lead to outright rudeness. It will be wise to keep
your lips zipped most of the time while this pattern is going on. A
closed mouth gathers no foot.

Mars (impulsiveness) quincunxes Jupiter (optimism) from July 8 to 11.
The kids find the cookie jar and throw caution to the winds. This
aspect will affect people who have natal points at the degrees
involved.

The Sun (vitality, self-confidence) quincunxes Neptune (space cadet
city, but also compassion) from July 13 to 15. If you have important
points at these degrees in your natal chart, you may feel out of it
now. A positive use of this combination is service to others.

Mars (energy, assertiveness, violence) makes a T-cross with Neptune
(delusion, confusion, self-deception) and Saturn (reality, authority,
frustration, delay) from July 14 on into August. This is one of the
most difficult combinations possible. Expect to see even more
violence and irrationality than usual in the headlines. If you're
lucky, maybe you won't see it impacting your own life. Keep your head
down, do good work, and let the crazies fight each other.

The Sun (self-confidence, vitality) sesquiquads Jupiter (optimism,
success, good luck) from July 17 to 19. These two bodies have so much
in common that even a hard aspect is unlikely to do harm. Individuals
whose natal charts are triggered by this aspect may be overoptimistic
now. Enjoy it while it lasts!

The Sun quincunxes Pluto (deep emotional change, unstoppable force)
from July 18 to 20. People who have natal points at the degrees
involved may experience "Opportunities for Growth" at this time.

Mercury (the ordinary mind, the "God of Merchants and Thieves")
sesquiquads Neptune (delusion, deception, self-deception) from July
19 to 21. The fluent liar meets the space case. Some folks don't know
the difference between reality and fantasy, and some folks don't mind
taking advantage of that fact.

The Sun enters its own sign, Leo, on July 21 or 22, depending on your
time zone. It's time to be noticed, and time to party. Summer fun!

Mercury (communication, busyness) semisquares Saturn (harsh reality)
from July 22 to 23. Mercury has to clean up his act now and stand to
attention - if only for a little while.

The Sun (self-confidence, vitality) sesquiquads Uranus (surprises,
innovations, excitement) from July 25 to 27. If this aspect contacts
sensitive points in your natal chart, you can find doors opening to
new vistas that you never imagined were there.

Venus (love, attraction, charm, beauty) is retrograde from July 27 to
September 8. This period is not so hot for starting new love
relationships, but it's just fine for continuing the ones we're in.
Make a special extra effort to be tactful and kind now.

From July 29 to 31, Mercury (the ordinary mind, business) quincunxes
Neptune (delusion, but also compassion). If these planets fall on
points that are sensitive in your natal chart, you may feel forced to
choose between taking care of business and being compassionate.
Choose compassion.
