Foodfight? Are you Ready? by YourEnchantedGardener .....

Daniel Imhoff: "Citizen's Guide to a Food and Farm Bill" explains issues that concern us all. "It might seem hard to fathom that a single legislation could wield such far-reaching influence. But to a large extent, the Farm Bill determines what sort of foods we Americans eat (and how they taste and how much they cost), which crops are grown under what conditions, and, ultimately, whether we’re properly nourished or not." --Daniel Imhoff from his website about the book.

Imhoff, speaking on a Public Forum
at Andrew Weil's "Nutrition and Health" Conference
May 16 at the Hyatt Manchester in San Diego,
said agreed with other panelists that the
quality of foods we eat today are dynamically
influenced by the Farm Bill that comes up
before Congress every five years.

This is the year, and this is the year
that the Organic Food Industry in behalf
of organic farmers is wanting more of the
money to go to support some kind of "post
Industrial agricultural" policy that
is sustainable, rather than subsidizing
farmers that are basically farming
produce that does not benefit the nation's health.

Daniel is a writer and reseacher on issues related
to food, the environment, and design. He is the
author of numerous articles, essays, and books.

Imhoff has become a highly sought-after public speaker
and is the co-host of a monthly farm and garden radio progrma
on KZYX&Z Mendocine County Public Broadcasting where
he regularly interviews leading activists in the world of
sustainable agriculture.

Daniel is the latest signer of "A Love Letter to Joe
the Farmer," the centerpiece of the campaign to
Buy Back the Rodriguez Farm."

Searching for Solutions to an Overpackaged
World"; and "Farming with the Wild":
