I went from 215,000 plus a couple hours ago
to 205,000?

Blog Numbers are suppose to count hits created by CureZone users.

Unfortunately, many hits are created by search engine spiders (robots), automated programs that try to pick all messages from a single blog.

The more messages a single blog have, the more fake hits generated by robots.

I have been analyzing hits, and removing those created by robots.

Another problem with robots is that robots tend to pick only blogs that have many messages, ignoring all blogs that are rarely updated.

Because of that, some blogs collect more fake hits then the others.
Every time a robot is discovered, that IP address is added to the list of addresses that can not generate hits.

Southern Bell, thanks for suggesting to the Webmaster that something be done about the blogs. It was you that brought this to the forefront and to Dushen’s attention. I think we are going to find a solution very soon.
