Keeping the Energy Moving

Just returned a call to Tina at the Anaheim Hilton,
one of the onsite host hotels for the Natural Product Expo West.
She is going to put be in touch with the Hilton state
to coordinate my Vision to include key players
who were present on site on the opening day of
our Feng Shui Conference.

On the day of the Opening Ceremony
I sensed that there was a historic opening.
There was.

In another part of the Hilton San Diego Resort
the International President of the HIlton was joining
the California Green Lodging Program.
On site was Rosario Marin, director of the Cal State
Recycling Board.

The State of California spends 50 million a year
for travel expenses. They want tog earmark these travel
funds toward hotels who go Green.

Anthony Zolezzi, one of the key players on the board
of the Organic Center called me in to do some Seed Dream
work.

The Center wants to move the market share for organic from
its current 2% to 10% by the year 2010.

I heard $800,000 was raised through the generousity
of Natural Food leaders the night of the VIP Organic Center
Fundraiser at NPEW.

Anthony invited me in the snap a few images in the history
of peace on earth.

The eve was enchanted. I met and connected with
a beautiful man from Aramark, a major distributor of
food. Aramark is starting to go organic. I met the man
in charge of this. He joined the Enchanted Garden Club.

I also was invited to provide Super Ripe photo images
for the Organic Center website. I will follow up on this soon.

I initiated a relationship with the Hilton at last summers
International Feng Shui Conference. I hooked up locally
grown organic foods with the HIlton Executive Chef.

We co-partnered to create "Organic Celebration at the Hilton!"
These three days of lunches. A red ribbon was cut.

I can see in my mind's eye, nexts years Organic Center
Fundraiser. I can see it being held at the Anaheim Hilton.

Organically grown Chefs were already prepping foods
at the Anaheim Convention Center working side by side
with Aramark. A Marriot kitchen was used to prep the foods
for the Organic Center Fundraiser. Some of the same
Chefs who prepped foods for the OTA fundraiser and who
I saw through my lens were there in the Marriot kitchen.

Some of these chefs were raving about the photos I took
of them.

What is next?

I can see the President of the Hilton and Rosario Marin
being giving awards at the Organic Center Fundraiser
next year. I already made a call on this to Anothy Zolezzi,
my new ally.

We will speak soon.

I am committed to stay in Your Enchanted Gardener mode
as long as possible.

I want to set this and other Seeds Dreams in motion
while the energies are still with me.

Your EG
Leslie

HOSPITALITY

City and state officials and representatives of Hilton Hotels Corp. today (Aug. 5) are announcing that more than 50 properties in the Hilton chain are in the certification process to join California’s Green Lodging Program. The announcement is to be made today at the Hilton San Diego Resort.

Matthew J. Hart, president and COO of Hilton Hotels Corp., and Rosario Marin, chair of the California Integrated Waste Management Board, are among the officials taking part in today’s announcement.

The Green Lodging Program is sponsored by the Integrated Waste Management Board, the state’s lead recycling agency. It includes hospitality establishments that substantially reduce the environmental impact of their day-to-day business operations.

"We welcome the respected Hilton Hotels Corp. to the California Green Lodging Program," says Marin in remarks prepared for today’s press conference. "Gov. Schwarzenegger’s Environmental Action Plan strongly supports green‚ business practices that protect our air, land, water and resources."

The California Green Lodging Program encourages travelers to stay at "green hotels," hospitality establishments that save energy, water, and resources, and divert waste from landfill disposal through environmentally friendly business practices.

"Hilton has had a long-term commitment to operate our businesses in a manner that is beneficial to the environment, says Hart in prepared remarks.

To be included in the Green Lodging Program, facilities must: establish recycling programs in common areas, guest rooms and administrative areas; incorporate food scrap and yard waste composting programs where cost-effective; participate in donation programs for food, surplus furniture, electronics and other items; use refillable amenity dispensers or minimally packaged items in recyclable materials; purchase in bulk to reduce excess waste from packaging; minimize use of disposable items; install energy- and water-efficient fixtures, lighting and other equipment; use nontoxic (or less toxic) alternatives for cleaning supplies; adopt an environmental purchasing policy for preferable products such as recycled-content office paper, tissue, napkins; and develop annual environmental improvement goals.
