This is an inspired test marketing letter I wrote to a woman I found on the web. We were both in the same place at the same time in 1988. We were at Dr. Jensen's birthday celebration. More than 1200 people came from 40 countries to celebrate the llife of a man who became life stuttering and stammering and left this life being one of the greatest health motivation speakers of all time.

Keeping the Dream Alive:
A Plan for the Purchase of
Hidden Valley Health Ranch,
Dr. Bernard Jensen’s home and grounds

HI Brenda,

You and I were both at Dr. Bernard Jensen's 80th birthday Celebration in San Diego in 1988. More than 1200 people from 40 countries attended that Celebration, a celebration of the life of a man who began life stuttering and stammering, and who could not put a sentence together. He left this earth content, having written over 50 books. He touched countless thousand upon thousands of lives with his wit and wisdom and never give-up-attitude.

I came upon your detailed resume that describes a life of service in the healing arts. I found it on the web when I was looking for another Jensen ally. I met thousands upon thousands of others like you in my service to and with Dr. Bernard Jensen.

I wrote a number of Dr. Jensen's books, including The Healing Power of Chlorophyll from Plant Life, and one of my personal favorite Jensen books called Survive This Day.

I am the one who took that picture of Dr. Jensen with the little goat, the picture that is so well known by many. It was one of his favorite photos as well.

I went through a lot of grief when the Dr. died in 2001. He was my spiritual father. Last Friday, March 25, 2005, would have been his 97th Birthday. He was 92 when he died. The concept of Deathand Dr. Jensen do not fit in the same sentence. He was so full of life that I truly do not believe death could take him or his memory. It is my honor, as one of his spiritual offspring to do all I can now to make sure
that his legacy is not forgotten. It doing so, I am keeping a promise that I made to him when he first reached out to help me. You can read that story in my forthcoming book on

Last Saturday, I had the honor of leading a Birthday tour of his Hidden Valley Health Ranch, his former home. At one point, I read a poem that I had written to him in 1983. it is called “Report on a Missing Persimmon.” I realize now it was a memorial poem to him. He kept that poem with his other treasures and awards in a display case. That display case, I am happy to say, is still in active service at the Hidden Valley Artist Retreat, the center run by the current caretakers of the former Jensen HIdden Valley Health Ranch.

I had much grief over the loss of Dr. Jensen, but I had no idea, until I returned to the land, how deeply I was grieving the loss of this healing land. I can only say, I have had this land in my bones since 1972, the year I graduated from college, left the city, and lived there at the Hidden Valley Health Ranch. I literally ate food from the garden grown on that land. I literally have that land in my bones and Soul. I ate food from that garden. I walked barefoot there.
I as well lost my health and ability to walk on that land. Dr. Jensen felt bad that he could not help me as hard as he tried. He taught that you cannot take away an experience a person is meant to have. I had to have my life experiences to get to this place where I am today.

The ten acres of Dr. Jensen's home and grounds, where his Soul still lives, is again up for sale.

The price tag is $1.5 million.

There are lots of people who are viewing the land and would love to buy it. The current owners are good people. They are excellent caretakers. Ellen Nadeau has created the very nurturing Hidden valley artist Retreat. It is a growing business; I would recommend it to any writer, or artist of any kind.

Tom wootton, her husband, wants to get back to a life that he finds more his own--a life in the Bay area. Living on the Ranch is for someone who deeply wants this kind of life, and above this, I truly believe that this land is a place where it is best to retreat, but not live full time.

I was one of the last ministers ordained by Edmond
Bordeaux Szekely in 1978. When he first met heard me speak at one of his last Essene seminars in San Diego,
he recognized my training by my questions.

Jensen and Szekely were good friends. Both were pioneers in the Health Sanatarium tradition, a tradition of taking people out to nature where they could come to their senses.

Jensen often would ask people to walk barefoot, to go sunbathing, to swim, to garden, to hike for three days before he saw them for their first Iridology appointment. Often more than 50% of their complaints disappeared just by being in a natural setting that the Soul needed.

The healing that these patients received happened here,
right here on this land that is so healing and now for sale.

This is very powerful healing land.

I sense that the land itself called Native Americans there. The land itself called Dr. Jensen there, the land itself called Ellen Nadeau and Tom Wootton there.

Now it is calling for all of us to join in community and be respond to its calling.

My plan is to do what can be done to raise the $1.5 million from a few buyers by April 9 -12, so that the land can be held safe and sound and satisfy the financial requirements of the current owners.

Then, I want to reach out to you, and others like you, who have been deeply touched by Dr. Bernard Jensen.

I told Gary Hirshberg, CEO and President of Stony Field Farms, a leading natural food company, that Jensen had seen more than 350,000 patients.

Gary said that if 300,000 people who Jensen loved and who loved Dr. Jensen gave $5.00 or more, that would raise all the money that is needed for the purchase price. Gary said he would contribute.

So this is my plan:
1. Go out on faith.
2. Find the capital to secure this land asap through loans and gifts.
3. Contact you and others like you and ask,
"Will you contribute an amount of funds
to see that this ten acres remains
as a retreat center where you, and others
who need this Retreat,
can continue tocome from time to time?
