God-Given Intelligence is the key not only to improving your existence but also to learning how to love your neighbor!
Give Agape Love:
Matthew 23:10-12 NKJV:
10 And do not be called teachers; for only One is your Teacher, the Lord Christ.
11 But he who is to be greatest among you shall be your servant.
12 And whoever exalts himself will be [a]humbled, and he who humbles himself will be [b]exalted.
Footnotes
[a] Matthew 23:12 put down
[b] Matthew 23:12 lifted up
Romans 12:10 NKJV
we are called to:
10 Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another;
We are admonished to desire the welfare of others more than our own; to like others better than ourselves.
** I.E. Do not be self-centered and think you are almighty and more important than other people!
** Love your neighbor!
That is an awesome command that is only obtainable through God's supernatural AGAPE LOVE. If this very simple, yet a very profound truth that could be understood and applied, then strife would cease.
** (Prov. 13:10) By pride comes nothing but strife,
But with the well-advised is wisdom.
If the world would see Christianity as never before when they come to discover; the true joy that comes from serving someone other than themselves. {Such a revelation to all!}
There is much confusion today about the subject of love because in English there is only one English word (love) used to describe its broad aspect of meanings.
*** example: When you said, 'I love my wife, I love apple pie, and I love my dog, I love my mother' obviously you are not talking about love in the same manner or degree of definition.
Yet, the Magnanimous AGAPE Love of God is supreme!
God's type of AGAPE LOVE; the highest stage of love!
This is when and where we seek the welfare or betterment of others even when we don't feel affection.
AGAPE =
love does not come from one's feelings.
Jesus displayed this AGAPE kind of love by going to the cross and dying for us even though He didn't feel like dying. Jesus sought the betterment of you and me, regardless of His feelings.
We, too, can have AGAPE love for our enemies even though we don't have a warm feeling of affection for them.
If they are hungry we can feed them; if they are thirsty we can give them a drink. We can choose to seek the betterment and welfare of others regardless of how we feel.
If anyone becomes a servant or slave and humbles himself with the motive of being exalted, then he is not truly fulfilling Jesus' command. Jesus is teaching about a true, dependent servant's heart, that loves others more than itself and will joyfully go without so that someone else may prosper.
Deuteronomy 15:15 NKJV
15 You shall remember that you were a Slave {a sinner} in the land of Egypt {the world}, and the Lord your God redeemed you; therefore I command you this thing today.
** This hung on the wall of John Newton the great African Slaver turned Hymn Writer of "Amazing Grace".
Proverbs 13:10
Where there is strife, there is pride,
but wisdom is found in those who take advice.
Some folks seem to gravitate towards strife and contention; always looking for a good fight.
Solomon warns us NOT to be hasty in getting involved in strife.
You could end up in a situation where you don’t know what to do… how to get out of it… how to END the strife…
Proverbs 17:14-16 NKJV
14 The beginning of strife is like releasing water;
Therefore stop contention before a quarrel starts.
15 He who justifies the wicked, and he who condemns the just,
Both of them alike are an abomination to the Lord.
16 Why is there in the hand of a fool the purchase price of wisdom,
Since he has no heart for it?
** it is just like the letting out of water.
Amazing Grace " Oh how sweet the sound! "
If we just take it to heart!
Seek resolution - not strife!
