Writing doesn’t record your thoughts, it’s your thinking
James Clear, a friend, and best-selling author, once told me that he did not write to record his thoughts but to understand what he even thought of a subject.
I feel the same. Without writing, it's not just that I would have tons of unsaved ideas banging my head, but that those ideas wouldn't exist. They are created by the act of writing, much more than they are recorded.
If you don't write regularly, the quality of your thinking suffers. Writing gives you access to an external brain, sharpens your ideas, and makes your thoughts smarter.
Consider this: take the problem you find most difficult right now. It can be a problem of life, relationships, academic or professional. Try to talk about it every day for the next thirty days. You will be surprised at the number of difficulties that will disappear once you can talk about them
** Repatriation and continued review are positive actions, which help make your thoughts into better remembered - memory patterns of ideas!
It is much like the learning of the alphabet and counting when first introduced! Writing just reinforces the pattern for the learning and organization of subject matter!
