EcoArt:Under the Sea/Flowerscape by Mayah .....

Reused materials in two seascapes and one flowerscape

I had a lot of left-over mixed acrylic paint from the last art project I did, and not wanting to waste it by having it dry up, I used it to create three more pieces of Eco Art:

"FlowerScape" Eco Art by mayah(c)2018 11" x 14"
Acrylic paint on scrap art paper; reused paint palette scraps; flower images from magazine advertisements; ribbon, lace, hand embroidery.

The circular shapes were made using a potato "stencil", the same one I made for the previous art piece "Lost Love". The flower images are mounted on thin cardboard; the entire project is mounted on reused cardboard backing, and then that is mounted on top of a mat board for layers of 3-D effect.

"Under the Sea 02" Eco Art by mayah(c)2018 [This is a tiny marine crustacean (Lauriea siagiani) commonly known as the “Pink hairy squat lobster" found on giant barrel sponges in the Pacific Ocean]

I had the idea to use two pieces of card board from a small box as "canvases" for two seascapes, even though the purple-pink and orange colors are not usual for depicting the ocean. These two 6" X 7" art pieces are the result, with pieces of reused paint palette, images from old magazines/calendars, and AcriGlaze, a non-toxic acrylic finish. Sea 02 has hand embroidery.

Eco Art by mayah utilizes reused/recycled/earth-friendlier materials whenever possible.
