Emerging from your cocoon of illusion

"An illusion is like a cocoon that you create around and within yourself, while you are growing your wings and learning how to fly." --Suzanne Lie*
Do you keep the illusion because it is so scary to even think about the alternatives?
The caterpillar slowly climbs along the branch and makes its cocoon.
Does the caterpillar understand the momentous task it undertakes?
Does it know its whole life is about to change?
That nothing will ever be the same?
Then it rests inside its cocoon, slowly changing.
Does it realize that changes are occurring?
Does it feel its own body morphing into something other than it had been?
Then one day the changes are complete.
It suddenly wants to fly!
Does the (now) butterfly remember its life as a caterpillar?
Does it miss its life inching along the tree branches?
In its new life as a butterfly, does it regret its life as a caterpillar?
Does it ever question its freedom?
Seemingly we are content in our boxed-in illusion in a life like a caterpillar.
We are so afraid of the cocoon stage that we are content not to fly.
We ignore the lies of governments that use more and more tyranny, wars, and economic collapse
in order to avoid the changes we know are necessary.
We stubbornly refuse to even think that we could become butterflies.
So even starting to make our cocoons is not something we can consider.
What becomes of the “I” when we become a butterfly?
Right now I can feel my body, it is very real to me.
I feel the density all around me.
I easily get sucked into the crazy negative energy all around me.
On the radio, on TV, on the internet.
These energies want power and control in any way they can get it.
They threaten my life and livelihood.
They are happy to keep me safe from flying.
(Both literally and metaphorically.)
It all seems so real.
For most of us, we find it difficult to let go of all that “garbage”.
We are afraid of what will happen to the “me”.
That is the thing we want to know.
When this illusion is not there anymore,
where will “I” be?
As a child there was no fear.
I easily talked to the trees, the flowers, the birds, the snakes.
I found it easy to become one with them.
It was easy to change “my” perspective into “their” perspective.
While in that state I did not “miss” my other life.
But now, it seems I have forgotten how to do that shift.
It seems I have bought the “box”.
It is closed up.
I can only see a tiny ray of light that clues me that there is "more" out there..."somewhere".
In a way is it is comforting to be in the box.
At least it is familiar.
No matter how bad the inside of the box gets...
all the voices around me caution...
“you can’t get out of the box as it is dangerous outside...
you don’t know what is out there...it is better to put up with this life...at least you know what is here.”
Then some memory peeks into my brain.
“Hey...you know how to get out of this box!
You remember how to make that cocoon!
You really do know how to fly!”
More and more people are hearing this voice inside of themselves.
As more and more hear it, more and more will listen and move forward!
They will find out that they really don't need to live like a caterpillar or in a box...
instead they can leave all that behind and...FLY!
