The Power of Unconditional Giving!

From my diary of october 28th, 2013 -

I live in a place that has numerous cracks. There are so many cracks here that I had to prioritize which cracks I'd attend to first. I decided to start at the bottom with the foundation for the house and work up. Most fortunately as soon as I decided to do this I got to be friends with a professional mason who volunteered to help whenever he could come over and work on repairing the cracks in the house foundation.

On a number of occasions since this year-long project I have thought that I could write a book on all that my mason friend did over the past year in his discoveries, probings, identifications, contemplations and strategies on how to proceed in addition to his actual repair work. For that "year" It was actually about fifteen months total we focused just on the front of the house as that is where the elements (mainly that rain water) has had its most severe impact against the foundation. We repaired pretty much all of the cracks at the front of the house in the foundation.

The repair process was preceded by a most intense excavation process of rock and clay dense dirt that was impacted in front of the house that needed to be removed to have access to the exterior foundation and that would allow us to have a French Drain there. I did that work most largely on my own but with great encouragement, guidance and inspiration by my mason friend. If it wasn't for his presence here - gifting us without any expectation of remuneration I could not have done the very most strenuous labor that I've ever done in my entire 62 years!

Now on March 10th, 2015 - Consequently to the whole long ordeal I have been changed and it is only recently, about another fifteen months later, that I realize the depth of the change that has occurred as a direct result from the unconditional giving that this man gave to our house. I only wish that I could have given him a nice thick envelope of cash on Christmas Day - 2013.
